Abstract

THE GARBAGE TRUCK VACUUM PICK-UP SYSTEM, is a labor saving device, used in conjunction with a garbage truck, for the removal of garbage from residential commercial and industrial establishments. This device provides the operator with the necessary tools to pickup garbage without assistance, and without leaving the confines of the drivers cab.

Description

DISCLOSURE
April 2nd, 1996 THE GARBAGE TRUCK VACUUM PICK-UP SYSTEM, is a labor saving device, when used with a garbage truck, for the removal of residential, commercial and industrial waste.
The vacuum hose which is guided by a hydraulic boom has a remote camera fi~ed to the boom. The camera sends images back to a monitor located in the drivers compartment.
The driver is able to guide the vacuum nozzle to the desired location by means of a joy stick (control handle) while observing the monitor. Once the v~ um nozzle is located over the garbage the suction caused by the v ~ul~m will pickup the pay load and deliver it to the truck.
An alarm alert system would be activated when the truck is making a pickup.
Once pickup has been completed, the truck boom and vacuum nozzle would be secured in a locked travel mode. The present system of compacting garbage in thetruck hopper would still be an integral part of the process.
This invention is meant to be retrofitted on all e~i~lh-g g,.. bage trucks and incorporated into all new trucks being produced.

Claims (8)

1) With THE GARBAGE TRUCK VACUUM PICK-UP SYSTEM, only one person is required to operate the truck. (two people are required today).
2) Compensation claims would be greatly reduced if not completely eliminated, while operating a garbage vehicle.
3) Loss of man hours/days or weeks would be greatly reduced because of health or sickness related to the environment.
4) Productivity would be greatly increased because, less dwell time is required at each pickup point.
5) Inclement weather would not be such an important factor as is the case today.
6) Reduced benefit costs, and also reduced overhead with less manpower requirements.
7) Existing garbage trucks can easily be retrofitted with THE VACUUM
SYSTEM.
8) All new garbage trucks can be easily outfitted with THE GARBAGE TRUCK
VACUUM PICK-UP SYSTEM.
