Abstract

L'invention concerne une unité de disque dur qui satisfait aux spécifications PCMCIA et qui a le format type II. L'unité du disque a un logement externe (12) et un connecteur (14) qui permet à l'unité d'être insérée dans un ordinateur hôte. Tous les composants électriques de l'unité sont montés sur une seule carte à circuits imprimés (90). La carte à circuits imprimés fait approximativement le tiers de la longueur du logement et elle se trouve entre le disque (18) et le connecteur. La diminution de la longueur de la carte à circuits imprimés permet à celle-ci d'être placée dans le même plan que le disque et n'augmente donc pas l'épaisseur de l'agencement total.
