Abstract

Une électrode de batterie (12), destinée à être utilisée dans une batterie bipolaire électrolytique (10), comprend un noyau à structure rigide et conducteur d'électricité (18), au moins une couche résistant à la corrosion (20), une couche intermédiaire (22), une couche active du côté positif (14) et une couche active du côté négatif (26). La couche résistant à la corrosion (20) se trouve en contact étroit avec une surface du noyau (18) et la couche intermédiaire (22) entre lesquelles elle est placée. Cette couche résistant à la corrosion comprend un matériau qui peut participer à une réaction électrochimique corrosive avec le matériau de la couche active positive, mais avec moins d'efficacité que la couche intermédiaire. Cette dernière (22) se trouve entre la couche résistant à la corrosion (20) et la couche active du côté positif (14), en contact étroit avec elles. Le matériau actif du côté négatif (26) se trouve en contact étroit avec la surface du noyau opposée à l'autre surface du noyau qui porte la couche résistant à la corrosion. Les marges de l'électrode sont connectées à des composants non conducteurs (30) de la batterie qui permettent d'espacer plusieurs électrodes. Ces connexions se font par des parties de surface marginales des électrodes (40) dont les oxydes (36) ont été éliminés. Ces connexions constituent des obturations parfaitement étanches aux fuites d'électrolyte.
