Abstract

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A space frame comprises, in combination, a plurality of node members interconnected by a plurality of frame members, each frame member having at each end thereof an axial opening and a slot extending from each end and having a width which is less than the width of the opening, each node having a node body having a plurality of connectors extending radially outwardly from the outer surface of the node body for coaxial reception within an opening of an associated frame member, each connector having a cross sectional width which is smaller than the width of the slot so as to enable the connector to pass through the slot when disposed in edgewise alignment therewith and a cross sectional length whichis greater than the width of the slot and less than the width of the opening so as to prevent the connector from passing through the slot when disposed in other than edgewise alignment while permitting the connector to be rotatably received in the bore, whereby the frame member may be installed onto the connector by aligning the slot with the width of the connector and moving the frame member so that the connector passes through the slot and the connector may be retained within the frame member by angularly displacing the frame member to a position whereat the connector is not edgewise aligned with the slot.
