or the city names are recorded in such a manner that a picture display is possible, making each regional tlme to have its own time differences~ respectively, by dividing into twenty four equal sections on the basis of the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and making the constants of the time differences to be operated by adding or subtracting with respect to the GMT.
Hereinafter, the method for displaying world time according to the presl~nt invention will be desceibed in detail with reference to Figs. 4 and 5.
When l:ime-setting key slgnals are lnputted to the microprocessor 2 from the key input member 1, time-setting display screen signals are outputted from the character display signal generator 3 upon the control of the microprocessor 2, as a result tlme-setting display screen is displayed on ~:
the CRT 7. Under the circumstance, when regional n~me-display-ing key signals are inputted to the microprocessot 2 from the key input member 1, the regional name is displayed at the regional name-designating position of the time-setting display screen upon the conteol of the microproce~or 2. That i8, in a state that the regional name-displaylng key signals are being inputted, the regional name signals which are stored in the character display memory 319 are outputted in order of the address and the regional names are displayed, and when the regional name-displaying key signal~ are not inputted : 25 in the course of displaying sequentially the regional names, the regional name displaying state at that moment is maintained.
When time and minute are set in the same mann~r as above by the time-designating key signals and the minute-designating :`

20222~0 key signals after setting the reference regional name, and thereafter time-setting completion key signals are inputted to the microprocessor 2 from the key input member l, the microprocessor 2 starts to count frequencies according to the oscillation frequencies, and then the time is displayed by increasin~ by 1 of the minute of the time-setting display screen upon the control of the microprocessor 2 each time that the counted value becomes one minute.
When time-displaying key signals are inputted to the microprocessor 2 from the key input member 1 after the reference regional name and the present time of the reference region are set, the reference regional name and the pre~ent time of the reference region are displayed upon the control of the microprocessor 2. Under the state, when world time-displaying key signals are inputted to. the microprocessor 2 from the key input member 1, the present GMT is obtained by operating the own constant of the reference regional name with the present time of the reference region, and in a state that the world time-displaying key signals are being inputted , the regional name and the own constant of the region stored in the character display memory 319 are sequentially read out, and then the regional names which are read out are i sequentially displayed as well as the own constant of the regional name is operated with the present GMT, thereby obtainlng the present time of the reglon. As a result, in a state that world time-displaying key siignals are being inputted, the reference regional name and the other regional names are sequentially displayed and at the same time the ~ ,,:: ''', : ' : ~ ,; ': ' present time of the region being displayed is calculated.
Accordingly, when a user stops the inputting operation of world time-displaying key signal while seeing the regional names being displayed, the state that the regional names at that time are continuously displayed is maintained and the present time of the region being calculated as above is displayed.
Under these circumstances, when world time-displaying key signals are inputted again, the procedures as above are repeated and the other regional name and the present time of the region are displayed.
As described above in detail, once a user's resident region is set as a reference regional name, the reference regional name and the present time of the reference region are displayed, thereafter wanted regional name and its present time are displayed upon the selection of the principal regional names of the world so that the users can know easily the present time of the principal regions of the world, and particularly it provldes the convenience in using international telephones and facsimiles.
