Abstract

An eyeglass frame hanger member for hanging a pair of eyeglasses for display, said pair of eyeglasses including a frame, said frame including temples and means for mounting first and second lenses in a side-by-side relationship with a gap therebetween, said frame further including a bridge portion extending across said gap, said temples being pivotable with respect to said lenses within the frame and being selectively movable between a folded, closed position and an unfolded, open position in which the temples are substantially perpendicular to said lenses, the eyeglass hanger member comprising a generally flat sheet of material and having an upper edge, a lower edge and a width dimension, the width dimension being greater than the width of the bridge of the eyeglass frame to which it is to be secured, opening means below the upper edge and means for securing a portion of said frame to said eyeglass frame hanger member with at least a portion of said eyeglass frame at a position below said hanger member whereby the temples when secured to the hanger member can be folded and displayed in a horizontal attitude or position, the temples of the frame can be unfolded to permit the try on of the frames with the hanger member attached thereto, without interfering with a potential user's view through the lenses when the eyeglasses are tried on and a plurality of frames can be supported with a horizontal attitude on one support, one behind the other, so that they appear in the horizontal position in which they will be worn.
