Abstract

A B S T R A C T

This invention is a harmless, odorless, chemically inert depilatory wax, composed entirely of natural ingredients, such as resin obtained from trees, beeswax, oil extracted from plants, and a mineral which does not react chemically with any of the other ingredients of the mixture, nor with the skin of the person using it.

S P E C I F I C A T I O N

Certain par-ts of the human body are naturally covered by a growth o~ hair, as ~or ins-tance, the human head, the face, and some other parts more or less~ In males, the growth of such hair is acceptable, and in æome cases even desirable. In fe-males, the growth of hair on -the head is o~ t~e utmost impor-tance, however, hair on the face and on other exposed parts of -the body is considered very repuls~ve and therefore superfluous.
In modern times superfluous hair is removed perma-nently b~ electrolysis, and temporarily, by depila-tories which destroy the surface hair chemîcally, or by applying a special wax which when applied to the hairy skin entraps the hair there-in, so that when it is peeled of;hhe~s~inlthe hair is removed with the wax.
This invention is a depilatory wax which is applied to the area of the skin where superfluous hair is to be removed.
- I-t is compounded o~ natural ingredients which are not chemical-ly readily active alone or with each other, are non-irri-tating to the skin, and are practically odorless.
The general ~ormula for the wax, taking in considera-tion extreme limitsp and measuring by weight is,-. , RESIN (from trees) -~ ----- 100 parts BEESWAX ------------------- 10 -to 20 ,. .. ~ . ., CAST~R OIL ---~ ---- 8 to 13 CALCIUM CARBONATE ----------10 to 20 Keeping the ingredients within the above limits pro-vides workable formulas, so that variations can be made in their rela-tive prportions to suit variable climates, requirements and conditions.

The following results have been arrived at after a considerable amount of research and experimen-tation, using -this wax on a variety of skins and under numerous condi-tions:-(a) This wax which is composed en~tirely of natural in-gredien-ts, does not contain any coloring material, since the resulting mix-ture has its own pleasant color, and it does not contain any perfume ingredien-t , since there is no chemical reaction with the hair to cause unpleasant odors which have to be masked. Consequently, there are no ingredients in this wax which may cause skin irritation or alergic reactions.
(b) The wax has been desi~led to soften at a low heat) a-t which it provides the exact elasticity for the wax to perform its function, and at the same -time provide the user'~iskin with a warm, comfortable feeling. This o~inion was expressed not only by users with strong healthy skin, but also in cases having vericose veins, The ~ireo~ions for the use of the wax consist o~
three simple step~, ;.e. First, using a stick applicator, warm -the wax to the temperature just before it star-ts to drip from the applicator.i-Secandly, apply the wax to the skin where the superfluous hair is to be removed, with -the applica-tor, in;thè~
direction~-~of the growth of the hair. Thirdly, peel the wax off the skin, rapidly~ by pulling along the skin.

Claims

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclu-sive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows.-

1. An odorless, colorless, non-irritating depilatory wax used for the temporary removal of superfluous hair from a person's skin, by applying said wax to the hair covered area, while said wax is in a flexible condition, due to being warmed, thus entraping the hair in the wax, then peeling the hair con-tained wax off the skin; said wax being compounded of natural ingredients only, and having the following general formula, measured by weight, resin from trees 100 parts, beeswax 10 to 20 parts, castor oil 8 to 13 parts, and calcium carbonate 10 to 20 parts.

2. A formula such as described in claim 1, in which the exact portions of the ingredients, for average use, and under commonly existing conditions, measured by weight,is resin from trees 100 parts, beeswax 15 parts, castor oil 10.5 parts, and calcium carbonate 15 parts.
