Description

- il est robuste en raison de la qualite de sa face supérieure et de l'efficacite de la liaison de cette face superieure avec les faces latérales;
- la nature pleine>~ de sa face superieure lui confere un aspect, un toucher et une sonorite confortables;
- la faible quantite de resine synthetique neces-saire a la fabrication de sa face superieure permet un prixde revient economique;

Figure 1 montre, en perspective et à seul titre d'exemple, une petite armoire dontle panneau ou face superieure presente l'agencement revendique;

8 ~ 35 The present invention relates to a piece of furniture of the kind wardrobe, chest or the like.
The originality of the present invention lies in the arrangement of its upper panel.
It is well known to use synthetic resins for the manufacture of storage furniture, such as cupboards, chests and the like. Such furniture is generally produced by assembling panels which are manufactured independently hanging from each other and which are hollow in order to have sufficient thickness to give them an aesthetic appearance tick, without being too expensive due to the cost of resin. If this constitution does not present disadvantages for the side panels of the furniture, it turns out that it is not the same for the panels constituting the upper sides or top of furniture. The feeling of hollowness and of emptiness that the user feels, when for example he places an object on top of the furniture, is indeed maple and wrongly suggests that the furniture does not have the qualities robustness of a piece of furniture with a full upper panel.
The manufacture of such furnaces also poses problems because an effective and aesthetic bond between the top panel and the side panels is difficult to achieve. ~ ~ -These are disadvantages to which the invention remedies.
According to the present invention is provided a piece of furniture wardrobe, trunk or similar, comprising at least two vertical panels, an upper panel connecting them together, said upper panel being formed by a flat plate coated with a layer of synthetic resin molded all around and forming a coating covering both the top, the below that the edges of said plate, this coating being '~' t -1-35 ~ C ~
provided with at least one sexie of legs coming with the ~ oulage and directed downward from said plate and embedding in at least one of said panels this coating also being provided a pair of lips also coming with the molding and directed towards the bottom of said plate and delimiting a groove for receive another of said panels.
These organs can have various arrangements.
as well as, in the case of a piece of furniture comprising a panel full back, a front panel agency to receive one or doors or drawers, and two side panels fitted with double walls, synthetic covering of the upper panel comes from molding:
- on the one hand with two vertical wings which, located under its rear edge, delimit a slide in which penetrates the upper edge of the rear panel of the furniture, - and on the other hand with vertical legs which, located under its two transverse lateral edges, pen ~ trent in the double walls of the two side panels.
A definitive connection can obviously be expected between the upper panel and the two side panels. She is, for example, made by ultrasonic welding.
A piece of furniture thus constitutes allies the main advantages below:
- it is robust due to the quality of its face and the effectiveness of the bond of this face upper with side faces;
- the full nature> ~ of its upper face provides a comfortable look, feel and tone;
- the low quantity of synthetic resin required The manufacturing of its upper face allows an economic cost price;
- overmolding of the resin constituting the part ~ "1 '9d ~

visible from its upper side makes all decorations possible, and allows in particular to round all the angles of this face which eliminates the risk of injury.
The invention will be understood moreover using of the following description, with reference to the schematic drawing annex representing, by way of nonlimiting example, a form of execution of a piece of furniture presenting this arrangement:
Figure 1 shows, in perspective and only example, a small cupboard with a panel or upper side presents the arrangement claimed;
Figure 2 is, ~ larger scale, a view in section along 2-2 of figure 1 of the upper panel of this piece of furniture, Figure 3 is a sectional view along 3-3 of figure

2.
2.
In ~ igure 1, 1 designates the whole of a small ar-moire with its upper panel 2 and its side panels

Comme le montrent les figures 2 et 3, des pattes ou doi~ts 8 ~iennent de moulage avec le revêtement synthétique 6;
contraire toutes le~ variantes de réalisation, quels que soient notamment la forme e* l'agencement du meuble, ainsi que les 5~;

3, of which only one of them is visible.
As is known per se, each of these panels lateral 3 comes from synthetic resin molding and is constitutes by a double wall in order to manage between the two elements of the double wall a hollow space 4.
The originality of this piece of furniture resides essentially in the arrangement of its upper panel 2. This panel consists in fact of a plate or panel 5 which is constituted in agglomerated material, for example based on wood, and is coated over its entire surface, i.e. both above and below than laterally, by a layer of synthetic resin 6 which is molded all around the panel 2. To realize an excellent bond between the panels 5 and the covering 6, it is also advantageously provided to groove the face lower of panel 5, in order to allow the connection of this panel with its covering 6 by a system of grooves and design ribs - -. ~ -3-by ~.
It should be noted, however, and this is the one essential characteristic, that synthetic resin 6 constituting the re ~ êtement of the panel 5 also constitutes by itself the elements allowing the liai ~ on between the whole pa ~ upper panel 2 and other ~ furniture panels.
As shown in Figures 2 and 3, legs or doi ~ ts 8 ~ ent of molding with the synthetic coating 6;
legs or feet which are directed towards the bottom of the panel 2 9 UNDER
~ es two transverse side edges. These fingers or paws 8 are shaped and dimensioned so that they can fit together without play in the hollow spaces 4 delimited by the doubles walls formed by the two side panels ~. To allow a definitive connection between the side panels ~ and the ~
fingers or legs 8, various means can be envisaged. This is thus in particular that it is advantageous to resort to welding by ultrasound ~ as shown by arrow 9 of figure 2.
With the resin 6 constituting the coating of the panel upper 2 also come from molding of ~ means allowing the liaiso ~ d ~ this panel with the rear panel 10 of the cabinet.
These means_. consist of two lips ll directed ~ worm ~ the bottom under the rear longitudinal edge of the top panel; these two lips define a groove or slide inside which penetrates the upper part of the rear panel 10.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited well heard in its sole embodiment which has been described above and which has been shown by way of example; she embraces it ~
otherwise all the ~ variant embodiments, whatever in particular the shape and layout of the furniture, as well as the 5 ~;

means used to make the connection between the panel upper of the cabinet and its other panels, respecti ~ ement rear, front and side ~.
