Abstract
WITH THREE ROOM LENGTH AND GRADUAL TRANSITION FLEXIBILITY. The invention relates to footwear having a "three quarter length" type insole which has a gradual transition in flexibility. The footwear comprises: - a shoe sole (20) including an insole (28), a midsole (32) and an outsole (36) attached together, - of which the midsole (32) is secured between the insole ( 28) and the outer sole (36), the insole (28) contacting the foot of the wearer and the outer sole (36) contacting the floor when the person walks with the footwear; - the midsole (32) includes a first part (56) whose length extends from the heel part by 70% to 77% of the length of the insole (28) to the area of the shoe tip (60) in which the first part (56) has a width substantially coincident with the adjacent part of the insole (28), - the midsole (32) includes a second part (64) extending beyond the first part (56) and up to the tip area wherein the second part (64) has a reduced width compared to the insole (28) adjacent thereto; and - the second part (64) provides an intermediate flexibility between the stiffness of the sole part (36) containing the first part (56) and a more flexible part of the sole (36) extending beyond the midsole (32) to the tip area, where the insole (28) is attached directly to the outer sole (36) substantially along the most flexible part.
