Abstract

MEMBRO ABSORVEDOR DE IMPACTO. Almofadas para aplicações de impacto dinâmico incluem polímeros celulares anisotrópicos produzidos num processo de extrusão, de contas expandidas ou de esponjamento reativo. O comportamento anisotrópico representado por C~ E~/C~ T~, C~ V~/C~ T~ e C~ H~/C~ T~, sendo que C~ E~, C~ V~ e C~ H~, representam a resistência à compressão do polímero celular em cada uma das três direções ortogonais E, V e H, respectivamente, medido comprimindo uma amostra de polímero celular de espessura 25-50 mm numa taxa de deformação de 0,08 s¬ -1¬ para 25% de deformação, C~ T~ representa a soma de C~ E~, C~ v~ e C~ H~, e pelo menos um de C~ E~/C~ T~, C~ V~/C~ T~ e C~ H~/C~ T~, tem um valor de pelo menos 0,40 a cerca de 0,80. O polímero celular tem, preferivelmente, densidade de 28 a 35,2 kg/m³ (1,75 a 2,35 libras/pé cúbico) e uma tensão de compressão na direção de resistência à compressão máxima de 290-600 kPa em 25% de deformação quando usado em aplicações de neutralizador de forração de teto. As almofadas são úteis em aplicações automotivas tais como forração de teto, painéis de porta, almofadas de joelhos, pilares, encostos de cabeça, encostos dos assentos, pisos de carga ou painéis de instrumentos.
