Abstract

"MéTODO DE FABRICAR ELEMENTO RANHURADO". Um método de fabricar um elemento ranhurado evita a geração de material desperdiçado e minimiza a quantidade de imprecisões dimensionais. Uma peça de trabalho cilíndrica oca é inicialmente preparada de um material tendo uma característica de alongamento relativamente alta. O material usado para formar a peça de trabalho pode ser liga de alumínio grau AA-5154 tendo uma característica de alongamento que está na faixa de cerca de 20% a cerca de 30%, de preferência na faixa de cerca de 22% a cerca de 28%, e de mais preferência cerca de 25%. Um mandril tendo uma pluralidade de ranhuras externas é inserido dentro da peça de trabalho e a peça de trabalho é deformada em engate com o mandril para formar um elemento ranhurado utilizando um processo de estampagem, tal como uma estampagem rotativa ou estampagem de alimentação. O elemento ranhurado é, assim, formado tendo uma pluralidade de ranhuras internas e uma superfície externa cilíndrica. O uso do processo de estampagem evita a geração de material desperdiçado. Além disso, a precisão dimensional é aperfeiçoada porque o elemento ranhurado é moldado de acordo com o mandril precisamente formado, o que elimina variações dimensionais que podem resultar das práticas de usinagem conhecidas.
