"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA A COMUNICAçãO FACILITADA POR RETRANSMISSãO". A comunicação originada por uma unidade remota (14) que já está dentro do alcance de recepção de um sítio base (10) pode, apesar disso, ser ainda mais facilitado através da alocação de um ou mais recursos de retransmissão (15, 16) . Esses recursos de retransmissão, adequadamente empregados, então servem para efetivamente aumentar a qualidade do serviço para a comunicação facilitada. Isto, por sua vez, pode permitir, por exemplo, a utilização de velocidades de dados maiores para a comunicação de uma unidade remota com energia relativamente baixa.
