Abstract

''PROCESSO PARA A OXIDAçãO DE UM áLCOOL PRIMáRIO'' Os álcoois primários, especialmente em carboidratos, podem ser seletivamente oxidados a aldeídos e ácidos carboxílicos num processo com baixo teor de halogênio usando-se um perácido na presença de uma quantidade catalítica de um di-alquil-nitroxila terciária (TEMPO) e uma quantidade catalítica de haleto. O haleto é preferencialmente brometo e o processo pode ser efetuado em pH de quase neutro a moderadamente alcalino (5-11). O perácido pode ser produzido ou regenerado por meio de peróxido de hidrogênio ou oxigênio. O processo é vantajoso para a produção de ácidos urónicos e para a introdução de grupos aldeído que são adequados para reticulação e derivatização.
