O primeiro objeto da invenção é uma caixa de eletrólise (1) para a produção de alumínio por um processo de eletrólise Hall-Héroult compreendendo meios de resfriamento por sopro de ar com jatos localizados (27) e vantajosamente com vazão variável, que permitem evacuar e dissipar a energia térmica da caixa. O segundo objeto da invenção é uma usina de produção de alumínio pelo processo de eletrólise Hall-Héroult caracterizado pelo fato de certas caixas, ou o conjunto destas, compreenderem, individualmente ou em comum, meios de resfriamento, de acordo com a invenção.
