Um telefone multimodo aperfeiçoado para emprego em um processo e sistema de comunicação por satélite aperfeiçoado. O telefone é seletivamente suscetível de receber sinais em diferentes larguras de banda portadora, de tal maneira que um sistema de comunicação por satélite tendo uma interface de radio não-simétrica pode ser facilmente implementado sem exigir hardware ou software de conversão de taxa no satélite para comunicações diretas móvel a móvel.
