"PROCESSO PARA LIMITAR ACESSO A DADOS ARMAZENADOS EM UM MEIO, DISCO óPTICO PARA USO EM UM SISTEMA DE LEITURA óPTICA DE UM COMPUTADOR, ARTIGO DE MANUFATURA, PROCESSO E APARELHO PARA LIMITAR O USO DE INFORMAçõES ARMAZENADAS EM UM MEIO E MEIO DE ARMAZENAGEM". é descrito um processo e sistema para propositadamente modificar a acessibilidade de informações codificadas em um meio óptico (1150), para indicar um estado ou história de um item associado com ele. Em uma versão, a modificação do meio óptico (1150) inclui um dispositivo (1170) para propositadamente avariar o meio óptico (1150) quando a informação é inicialmente acessada, de modo que, nas subseq³entes tentativas de acessar as informações do meio óptico (1150), o acesso anterior às informações pode ser deletado pelos erros de acesso propositadamente gerados.
