Um protetor solar plano, flexível, para absorção e/ou reflexão de luz solar, particularmente luz de UV, particularmente para aplicação como guarda-sol, marquise ou cobertura de janela, sendo que o protetor solar apresenta regiões entremeadas por um padrão de janelas de luz, é configurado de tal modo que as regiões formam um padrão geométrico regular de janelas de luz e regiões de barreira, sendo que tanto janelas de luz adjacentes como também regiões de barreira adjacentes estão respectivamente contíguas, pelo menos em regiões de canto.
