Abstract

This invention relates, in general, to a process for radiation crosslinking polymers. A monochromatic radiation source (for example, an excimer lamp or excimer laser) can be used to crosslink elastomers and thermoplastic polymers composed with a radiation-activating crosslinking agent, such as anthraquinone, substituted anthraquinone, acetophenones (of the multifunctional type) or copolymerizable ), benzophenones (multifunctional or copolymerizable) or substituted triazine. The invention also relates to a radiation crosslinkable composition, especially among those that combine polymerizable and non-polymerizable radiation-activated crosslinkers.
