Abstract

eletrodo para a evolução eletrolítica de hidrogênio. a presente invenção se refere a um eletrodo e, em particular, a um eletrodo adequado para uso como cátodo para evolução de hidrogênio em processos eletrolíticos industriais e um método para sua preparação. o eletrodo compreende um substrato metálico dotado de um revestimento catalítico, sendo que o dito revestimento catalítico compreende uma primeira camada protetora em contato direto com o substrato, sendo que a dita primeira camada protetora compreende platina, na forma de metal ou seus óxidos, e uma segunda camada aplicada em cima da dita primeira camada protetora, sendo que a dita segunda camada compreende platina, paládio e um elemento selecionado a partir do grupo de terras raras, na forma de metais ou seus óxidos, em que a dita segunda camada compreende 15-40% em peso de platina e 10-30% em peso de paládio e 40-75% em peso de um elemento selecionado a partir do grupo de terras raras em relação aos metais.
