Abstract

IMPLANTES MÉDICOS PARA MARCAÇÃO DE LOCAIS CIRÚRGICOS. Dispositivos de marcadores fiduciais implantáveis com uma forma predefinida podem deformar quando o estresse é aplicado in vivo, e recuperar sua forma quando o estresse é removido, reduzindo o desconforto e a palpabilidade do paciente. Os dispositivos podem ser usados para moldar cavidades de ressecção tumoral irregulares em uma forma mais ideal para radioterapia permitindo um tratamento mais preciso. Após o tratamento, os dispositivos reabsorvem eliminando testes desnecessários que ocorrem quando os médicos desconhecem dispositivos de marcadores fiduciais implantados. O crescimento de tecido nos dispositivos pode também resultar em melhores resultados cosméticos quando os dispositivos são implantados na mama após uma mastectomia. Os dispositivos preferencialmente compreendem poli-4-hidroxibutirato ou poli(succinato de butileno) ou copolímeros dos mesmos.
