Abstract
a presente invenção refere-se a um aparelho que compreende um armazenamento (201) que armazena imagens correspondentes a diferentes posições e direções de visualização para uma cena, e vetores de parâmetro de posição associados para as imagens, sendo que o vetor para uma imagem compreende dados indicativos de uma posição de visualização e uma direção de visualização. um receptor (205) recebe um vetor de parâmetro de posição de visualização de um cliente remoto (101). um seletor (207) seleciona um conjunto de imagens em resposta a uma comparação entre o vetor de parâmetro de posição de visualização e os vetores de parâmetro de posição associados. um sintetizador de imagem (209) gera uma imagem a partir do conjunto de imagens. um gerador de dados (215) gera um vetor de parâmetro de posição de referência para a imagem sintetizada, indicando uma posição e direção de visualização para a imagem sintetizada. um codificador de imagem (211) codifica a imagem sintetizada e um gerador de saída (213) gera um sinal de imagem de saída que compreende a imagem sintetizada codificada e o vetor de parâmetro de posição de referência. o sinal de imagem de saída é transmitido para o cliente remoto.
