há diversos tipos de dispositivos plenópticos e arranjos de câmeras disponíveis no mercado, e todos esses dispositivos de aquisição de campo de luz têm seu formato de arquivo proprietário. no entanto, não há um padrão que suporte a aquisição e a transmissão de informações multidimensionais. é interessante obter informações relacionadas a uma correspondência entre pixels de um sensor do dito sistema de aquisição óptica e um espaço de objeto do dito sistema de aquisição óptica. de fato, sabendo qual porção do espaço de objeto de um sistema de aquisição óptica um pixel pertencente ao sensor do dito sistema de aquisição óptica está capturando permite o aperfeiçoamento de operações. logo, introduz-se a noção do feixe de pixel, que representa um volume ocupado por um conjunto de raios de luz em um espaço de objeto de um sistema óptico de uma câmera.
