resumo patente de invenção: "método para embotamento de arestas afiadas de objetos de vidro". a invenção refere-se aos métodos para o processamento de objetos de vidro, em particular, aos métodos de embotamento de arestas afiadas de objetos de vidro. um método compreende o tratamento de uma borda de vidro com um feixe de laser focalizado, enquanto relativamente move-se o objeto de vidro e/ou o feixe, o referido tratamento da borda de vidro sendo realizado com um feixe de laser tendo uma seção em forma de anel, durante o qual a borda do vidro é aquecida com o feixe de laser a uma temperatura acima da temperatura de transição vítrea, t > tg. o método fornece a criação de seções de vidro temperado de forma e tamanho desejados na área perto da borda devido ao fornecimento de tensões térmicas nestas áreas, que causam a formação de um chanfro com extremidades arredondadas ou embotadas sobre o vidro na fratura frágil.
