The present invention consists of biodegradable containers and fertilizers characterized by comprising a biodegradable raw material composed of vegetable fibers from stem, leaves or roots, and or processed fibers such as papers and newspapers, recyclable paper, ensuring the reuse of these residues in a new application. The containers also have intrinsic fertilizing properties, or even fertilizing properties due to additives included in the pulp manufacture, and either partial or total surface application of the container, which favor the development of the roots, and the seedlings as a whole. It also includes the use of natural hydrophobic substances to delay the structural collapse of containers in contact with moisture, when necessary.
Description
[0001] A invenção consiste em recipientes para diferentes fases de semeadura, plantio e produção de mudas feitos a partir de matéria prima vegetal com propriedades biodegradáveis e fertilizantes, e aplicação opcional de substâncias hidrofóbicas para aumento da resistência temporária à umidade.[0001] The invention consists of containers for different stages of sowing, planting and production of seedlings made from vegetable raw material with biodegradable properties and fertilizers, and optional application of hydrophobic substances to increase the temporary resistance to moisture.
Much of the sowing and planting of seedlings is carried out in seedlings and pots of artificial polymers based on petroleum derivatives. Because they are not biodegradable, these pots prevent the proper growth of roots that cannot break the barrier of the pots, which bend inside the pots. As a result, the productivity of the seedlings ends up being lower due to the inefficient development of the root system. In addition, the roots of the seedlings produced can break when transplanting the seedlings into the soil, affecting the productivity and development of plant specimens. The vases resulting from planting are, in general, discarded in landfills or even at the planting site, where they may take a few hundred years to degrade, varying according to the properties of the raw material and the conditions of the environment.
Both natural products such as vegetable fibers and artificial polymers with properties that make it biodegradable are used to manufacture these vases. One of the advantages of using these pots is the possibility of placing it in the soil together with the seedling, preventing the rupture of the roots during the transplant, in addition to avoiding the production of waste. However, many of the available biodegradable pots are manufactured with raw material taken directly from nature, increasing the demands for natural resources, instead of using raw material from recycled material. These pots with materials that do not have additional properties that favor the development of seedlings and seedlings. Finally, biodegradable pots made with natural fibers also tend to be vulnerable to moisture accumulation due to the hydrophilic property of cellulose, hemicelluloses and pectins, or other hydrophilic substances that may also be present, compromising the structural resistance of the pots and the process of production of seedlings both manual and mechanized.
[0004] Os documentos de patente WO2007/051393A1, US2011/0167723A1 e BR 202014023965-6 apresentam alguns exemplos de vasos biodegradáveis.[0004] Patent documents WO2007 / 051393A1, US2011 / 0167723A1 and BR 202014023965-6 present some examples of biodegradable vessels.
Os potes descritos também são destinados a flores, o que não garante a adequação destes a plantas de maior porte.[0005] WO2007 / 051393A1 describes pots for the production of flowers made with macerated vegetable fibers, adhesives and lubricant. The product described does not use recycled material in the pots, which reduce the waste commonly destined for landfills, in addition to not having potential fertilizers. The pots described are also intended for flowers, which does not guarantee their suitability for larger plants.
The document US2011 / 0167723A1 describes pots made of cardboard that present an alternative with greater mechanical resistance that allows the application in larger seedlings. These pots can be placed directly on the soil where they suffer degradation, or there are mechanisms for the seedling to be removed from the pot, and it can be sent to a landfill. However, this invention does not foresee the potential fertilizer, in addition to not aiming at the reuse of recycled material, and other vegetable fibers that can contribute to the development of seedlings. Also, they do not allow the proper development of the roots due to partial degradation of the pot walls, potentially leading to folding, and reduced seedling productivity.
The document BR 202014023965-6 describes biodegradable pots for planting made with recycled paper, or not, that can be waterproofed with the use of artificial polymers. Despite the problem of waterproofing being solved by guaranteeing temporary mechanical resistance to the pots, even with artificial polymers, this invention does not allow the development of the roots of the seedlings with the partial degradation of the pots during the production process, resulting in the folding of the roots. Since there is no gradual degradation, there is also no possibility of planting the seedling together with the pots in the soil, just as there is no measure to increase seedling productivity with the use of fertilizers directly in the formulation of the pots.
