Abstract
"MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PARA DETERMINAR A RAZãO DE LO-GVEROSSIMILHANçA COM PRé-CODIFICAçãO". Um equipamento e método para recuperar dados transmitidos em um sistema de comunicação sem fio são reivindicados. Uma pluralidade de pontos de sinal, o ponto de sinal compreendendo uma pluralidade de símbolos de modulação de uma pluralidade de bits codificados é recebida. Um primeiro subconjunto de pontos de sinal para os quais um bit é igual a um primeiro valor e um segundo subconjunto de pontos de sinal para o qual o bit é igual a um segundo valor são determinados. Os primeiro e segundo subconjuntos são pontos de sinal de uma constelação de sinal expandida. A probabilidade de o bit ser igual ao primeiro valor ou ao segundo valor é determinada como uma função do ponto de sinal recebido. Um símbolo de decisão suave pode então ser determinado com base na probabilidade de o bit ser igual ao primeiro valor ou ao segundo valor. Os símbolos de decisão suave podem ser representados como razões de log-verossimilhança.
