Abstract
"MéTODO PARA INTRODUZIR COMBUSTìVEL EM UMA CâMARA DE COMBUSTãO DE UM MOTOR DE COMBUSTãO INTERNA OPERACIONAL TENDO PELO MENOS UM CILINDRO COM UM PISTãO". Dois combustíveis diferentes são injetados na câmara de combustão de um motor de combustão interna. Um combustível principal é inflamado por um combustível piloto que é mais prontamente auto-inflamável do que o combustível principal. De acordo com o método, condições de carga no motor são monitoradas e ajustes de condições são definidos para constituir condições de baixa carga e condições de alta carga. Modos operacionais distintos são definidos para cada conjunto de condições de carga. Sob condições de baixa carga, uma mistura homogênea de combustível principal e ar é pobre demais para assegurar combustão estável, por conseguinte, o combustível principal é injetado a alta pressão imediatamente seguindo injeção do combustível piloto. Two different fuels are injected into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. A main fuel is ignited by a pilot fuel that is more readily self-igniting than the main fuel. According to the method, motor load conditions are monitored and condition adjustments are set to constitute low load conditions and high load conditions. Distinct operating modes are defined for each set of load conditions. Under low load conditions, a homogeneous mixture of main fuel and air is too poor to ensure stable combustion, therefore the main fuel is injected at high pressure immediately following pilot fuel injection. Under high load conditions, fuel is injected in three stages. In the first stage, the main fuel is mixed with intake air before introduction into the combustion chamber or the main fuel is injected during the intake time or early in the compression time.
