Abstract

"APARELHO PARA A DETECçãO E MEDIçãO DE PARTICULADOS EM METAL DERRETIDO". Uma sonda para inserção para o interior de metal derretido para detectar e medir particulados suspensos nele, inclui um tubo interno de um material isolado eletricamente que vem formar uma câmara de recepção de metal, o tubo tendo um orifício para permitir que metal derretido escoe para o interior da câmara. Um primeiro eletrodo se estende para o interior da câmara para encontrar metal dentro da câmara e um segundo eletrodo circunda no mínimo uma porção do tubo interno para encontrar metal derretido do lado de fora da câmara. Os eletrodos podem ser conectados a um dispositivo de medição para estabelecer um trajeto de corrente através dos eletrodos e que passa através do orifício para medir mudanças no potencial elétrico produzido pela passagem de particulados arrastados no metal derretido que passa através do orifício. Uma bainha externa de material resistente ao calor circunda uma porção do segundo eletrodo e uma passagem de gás se estende para fora do tubo interno para conectar a uma fonte de vácuo para criar um diferencial de pressão dentro da câmara para facilitar o escoamento de metal derretido através do orifício. Um material de depressão da fase de liquidus está na câmara para formar liga com o metal derretido que penetra na câmara para baixar a temperatura da fase de liquidus do metal derretido, e permitir um período de tempo mais longo para detectar e medir particulados no metal derretido.
