A invenção se refere a um processo semi-contínuo para a preparação de cloretos de ácidos e de aldeidos benzênicos que consiste em se produzir em um reator um iniciador compreendendo principalmente um composto benzênico diclorometilado, em se efetuar simultânea e continuamente por um lado uma introdução simultânea no reator de um ácido carboxilico ou de seu anidrido, de um composto benzênico dicloro-metilado (2) e de pelo menos um catalisador do tipo Friedel e Cfafts e em se faze-los reagir, com agitação, a uma pressão P1 inferior à pressão atmosférica ou no máximo igual a ela, e a uma temperatura que varia de 60<198>C a 180<198>C; por outro lado em se extrair continuamente o cloreto do ácido (3) do meio de reação e eventualmente o HC1 formado por destilação a uma pressão P1 e à temperatura de reação, e em seguida em se interromper a introdução dos reagentes quando tiver sido atingido no máximo o volume útil do reator contendo predominantemente o aldeído benzênico; e em se efetuar a destilação fracionada, total ou parcial do meio de reação, constituído predominantemente por aldeído benzênico a uma pressão P2<P1 e a uma temperatura no máximo igual a 180<198>C."PROCESS OF PREPARING CHLORIDES FROM ACIDS AND BENZENIC ALDEHYDES".
