In one embodiment, a hole (52) is formed in the member (50) and the SAW device is mounted in a pair of diametrically opposed grooves provided in the hole (52). The SAW device comprises a substrate on which pairs of electrodes are seated, the pairs of electrodes being in a position such that the folding of the SAW device results in the compression of the zone containing a pair of electrodes and voltage in a zone that comprises another pair of electrodes. In an alternative arrangement, the member is formed with a recessed part on its surface and the device ive SAW is mounted on a pair of grooves formed by the opposite walls of the recess. The axis around which the torsional moment is applied preferably rests or is substantially parallel to the plane of the SAW device.
