Patente de Invenção:<B>"ALMOFADAS DE AIRBAG DE BAIXA PERMEABILIDADE QUE APRESENTAM NìVEIS DE REVESTIMENTO EXTREMAMENTE BAIXOS"<D>. São providos tecidos infláveis revestidos (26), mais particularmente, airbags, aos quais foram aplicadas quantidades adicionais muito baixas de revestimento, os quais exibem uma permeabilidade do ar extremamente baixa. Os tecidos da invenção são principalmente para uso em almofadas de limitação usadas em automóveis que exigem características de baixa permeabilidade (tais como airbags de cortina lateral). Tradicionalmente, os revestimentos pesados e, conseq³entemente, dispendiosos, de compostos, tais como neopreno, silicones e semelhantes, foram utilizados para proverem tais níveis de baixa permeabilidade exigidos. Dessa forma, o airbag revestido da invenção apresenta um revestimento de no máximo 70 gramas por 0,8361 metros quadrados (2,5 onças por jarda quadrada), mais preferivelmente de cerca de 22,6 gramas por 0,8361 metros quadrados (0,8 onças por jarda quadrada), e exibe um tempo de vazamento (uma medição do tempo exigido para que toda a quantidade de gás introduzida dentro do airbag na pressão máxima durante a inflação escape do airbag em 0,6804 atm (10 psi) de pelo menos 7 segundos.
