Abstract

The coating is used for protecting concrete, timber, ceramic and metallic surfaces used in construction, against corrosion and erosion. It is water-resistant, non-combustible, acid- and alkaline-resistant, and resistant in organic aggressive mediums. It does not age and has good mechanical strength. The coating is based on fluid glass and contains (in weight p.) : aluminium hydroxide (from 5 to 25), zinc oxide (10 - 20), latex (8 - 15), porcelain flour or finely ground quartz sand, or basalt (50 - 70), and, where necessary, cement (from 2 - 12), while the fluid glass is potassium or sodium (20 - 70).
