Abstract
The model refers to a grinding unit used to break to pieces and to mill ores, rocks, earth and other materials, mainly in drum mills, and finds applications in ore mining, in capital construction and in other branches of industry. The grinding body has the form of spheroid tetrahedron, obtained from the crossing of four spheres with equal radii, the center of each one lying on the surfaces of the others, so that the centers form the vertices of a regular tetrahedron. The radii of the spheres are equal to the tetrahedron rim. At least one of the apexes (1) of the spheroid tetrahedron is cut aslant, while the others are rounded so that the mass of the subtracted from each vertex (1) material is one and the same. It is possible that the rims (2) of the grinding body are either rounded, or bevelled, or ribbed. Ribbing could be homogeneous or bow-shaped. Depending on the hardness of the material and on the size of the pieces, one has to choose as grinding bodies such as with sharp or rounded, or ribbed rims.
