Abstract

The bearing head is an important part of the OLTC. The head fixes the OLTC to the cover or to the bell of the on-load controlled transformer. There are pipe outlets on the bearing head, where the connections to a protection relay, siphon and oil filter are executed. The pipe connections are two per each of the two sides of the bearing head, allowing execution of rational connection without ducts passing over the cover of the bearing head. The bearing head (1) is round and the round lid (4) is eccentrically situated on it. There are two opposite pipe outlets (7, 8) at the two sides of the cover (4). A siphon is connected to one of them. At a certain angle towards the pipe outlets (7, 8), there is one more pipe outlet (9, 10), closer to worm reductor drive (5). If necessary, the pipe outlet(9) can be mounted at the place (10). All pipe outlets have flanges (16). An air release (17) is mounted on the pipe outlet (7) of the siphon. The oil filter is connected between two adjacent pipe outlets (7, 9). A protection relay is mounted at one of the other pipe outlets (8, 10). For some transformers, the locations of the pipe outlets (7, 9) can be swapped with the ones of (8, 10).
