Abstract

The U-shaped profile is made of steel sheet and is designed for the civil engineering industry. It comprises a base (2) and two arms, folded at right angle under base (2) in the form of a flange (5, 6), the free ends of which are turned up in the form of two opposite to each other flange-like end parts (7, 8). At one of the two longitudinal ends of base (2), an end section (2a) is shifted (folded) inwards at some depth, equal to the thickness of the sheet steel. When two such U-shaped profiles (1, 1') are connected in the form of a box by means of overlapping, a hollow profile is produced of rectangular cross section with levelled off external surfaces, without any thresholds. 2 claims, 3 figures
