Abstract

The method is used in the power industry, in particular in brown coal-fired electric power plants. By it the moisture is separated from the coal by mechanical-and-heat method, thus reducing the thermodynamic losses during the evaporation of the water contained in it. By the methos the unscreened brown coal is heated by passing of hot water and/or water steam to operating temperature ranging from 60 to 200 deg. C, after which they are introduced as coal slime in a centrifuge with a massive wall (2). The operating volume of the centrifuge (2) is under pressure corresponding to the pressure of the water steam at the operating temperature. The water bound into the coal is separated by centrifuging and is drawn out as spill over the spillway (4) from the operating volume of the centrifuge with massive wall (2). 6 claims, 1 figure
