"Skill game" The present invention relates to a skill game comprising, on the one hand, at least one body of relatively small volume and having an outer wall sufficiently elastic to be able to rebound on contact with a relatively hard surface and , on the other hand, a flexible link extending at least partially from the body to a fixed member or which can be made substantially fixed relative to this surface.
A game of this kind is known according to which one or more players, provided with a racket, tap against a ball attached by an elastic link to an organ, which can be fixed to the ground or which has a sufficient weight to prevent it from getting moves when traction is exerted on the link during play.
One of the aims of the invention is to present a game which is somewhat similar but which, however, is practiced without racket and presents very varied possibilities, according to the aptitude and the desire of the player unlike what is the case for the game. aforementioned racket which generally is limited to hitting as hard as possible on the ball.
To this end, according to the invention, the link has two portions extending on either side of guide means provided on the aforementioned member, the first portion being connected to the body, the second portion being intended to be actuated. by a player, this link cooperating with the guide means so as to allow the latter to move relative to this member and thus to vary the respective lengths of these two portions when traction is exerted on the link by the centrifugal force acting on the body set in motion and / or by a manual traction force exerted by the player on the second portion of the link.
Advantageously, the guide means are pivotally mounted on the member about an axis substantially perpendicular to the aforementioned surface.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the guide means comprise a support on which are provided two guide points located at a certain horizontal distance from each other between the two aforementioned portions of the link.
Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the description given below, by way of nonlimiting example, of a particular embodiment of the skill game according to the invention with reference to the appended drawings.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of this embodiment. Figure 2 is, on a larger scale, a perspective view of a detail of this embodiment.
In these two figures, the same reference numbers designate the same elements.
These drawings represent a game of skill comprising, on the one hand, a spherical body 1 of relatively reduced volume, for example with a diameter varying between 3 and 8 cm, and having an outer wall sufficiently elastic to be able to rebound in contact with a relatively hard surface 4, such as the ground, and, on the other hand, a flexible link 2 extending from the spherical body 1 to a member 3 fixed or which can be made substantially fixed relative to this surface 4.
According to the invention, the link 2 has two portions 2a and 2b extending on either side of guide means 5 provided on the member 3.
The first portion 2a of this link is connected to the spherical body 1, while the second portion 2b is intended to be actuated by a player, whose figure 1 shows a hand 6.
This link 2 cooperates with the guide means 5 so as to allow the latter to move relative to the member 3 and thus vary the respective lengths of the two portions 2a and 2b when traction is exerted on the link 2 by the centrifugal force acting on the spherical body 3 in the direction of arrow 7 and / or by a manual traction force exerted by the player, as indicated by arrow 8, on the portion 2b of link 2.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the body is therefore constituted by a spherical ball, although it may have quite different shapes, symmetrical or not.
Depending on the shape of the ball, the game will be more or less complex and will require more skill and reflex.
The game is generally played on a relatively flat horizontal surface 4 made of a hard material to allow the body 1 to rebound.
The guide means 5 are advantageously pivotally mounted on the member 3 around an axis 9 which is substantially perpendicular to the surface 4.
These guide means 5 comprise a support 10 on which are provided two guide points 11 and 12, located at a certain horizontal distance from each other between the two portions 2a and 2b of the link. Thus, these two portions are separated by an intermediate portion 2c of the link which extends between these two points 11 and 12.
It has been found that when the horizontal distance between these points is of the order of 5 to 15 cm, it is generally avoided that the two portions 2a and 2b intertwine during the rebound of the spherical body 1. This must indeed be avoided at all costs.
The axis 9 around which the guide means 5 pivot is located between the two guide points 11 and 12 near the point 11 are located on the side of the first portion 2a of the link on which the spherical body 1 is fixed.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the link is non-elastic and consists of a wire very resistant to traction and wear by friction. It may for example be a nylon thread.
The latter is preferably mounted to slide relative to the guide points 11 and 12, which in the particular embodiment shown in the figures consist of coaxial rings through which the link 2 extends freely.
The member 3 is constituted by a relatively heavy mass thus making it possible to prevent it from moving when a traction is exerted on the link 2.
The game according to the invention and as shown in FIG. 1 can be practiced as follows:
The free end of the portion 2a of the link is held firmly by the player's hand 6 and at the time of starting the game, the spherical body 1 is made to bounce on the hard surface 4, so that it describes arcs in space around the mass constituting the fixed member 3.
The art now consists in maintaining the leaping of the body 1 by cleverly coordinating the centrifugal force acting on the latter and the traction force exerted by the player on the portion 2a of the link.
The game could for example consist in making the body 1 leap into a determined circle 13 whose center is located on the axis 9.
The diameter of this circle 13 can vary between relatively wide limits depending on the skill of the player.
In FIG. 1, the trajectory followed by the spherical body has been shown in phantom in a series of successive intermediate positions.
The player can imagine different variations of the game, for example while he maintains this leaping movement of the spherical body 1 around the mass 3, he himself can dance or jump around this mass while passing above and below the portion 2a of the link whose end it holds in hand.
It is thus easy to understand that the invention is not limited to the embodiment of the skill game according to the invention as described above or shown in the drawings, but that many variants can be envisaged without departing of the scope of the present invention.
This is how the organ could for example include a stake to be driven into relatively soft soil. In such a case, it does not therefore have to be made up of a heavy mass.
Furthermore, the two rings which define in the embodiment shown the two guide points 11 and 12 could be replaced by a continuous sheath through which the link passes; the two ends thus determine the guide points and are for example flared in order to minimize wear or friction of the link at these ends.
The game can also be played on a surface that is not flat, e.g. on a wavy surface.
CLAIMS
1. Game of skill comprising, on the one hand, a body of relatively small volume and having an outer wall sufficiently elastic to be able to rebound on contact with a relatively hard surface and, on the other hand, a flexible link extending to the at least partially from the body to a stationary member or which can be made substantially stationary with respect to this surface, characterized in that the link has two portions extending on either side of guide means provided on the abovementioned member, the first portion being connected to the body, the second portion being intended to be actuated by a player,
this link cooperating with the guide means so as to allow the latter to move relative to this member and thus vary the respective lengths of these two portions when traction is exerted on the link by the centrifugal force acting on the body set in motion and / or by a manual pulling force exerted by the player on the second part of the link.
