<EMI ID=1.1>
- la hauteur H comprise entre l'extrémité inférieure du tube de soutirage 5 et le niveau de débordement du déversoir 9 de la cuve 8 est variable et peut être réglé positivement ou négativement, ce qui permet aussi un réglage du débit de soutirage des grains ;
Fluidized media provide the conditions required for good combustion of pellets
coal or any other solid fuel.
Fluidization applied to combustion at atmospheric pressure began in the 1950s,
and was industrialized in boilers, of which the hearth diffuser was a mechanical grid ensuring the distribution of combustion air and the evacuation of agglutinated ash.
From the 1970s the fluidized bed combustion technique was developed to burn various fuels, even very humid, in fireplaces (combustors), the bottom of which includes a base pierced with injection nozzles surmounted by a sand bed. fairly large grain size. The process is intended for fuels which are slightly or moderately ashy, since the powdery ash is removed by entrainment and recovered in dust removal installations.
As soon as the ash content of the coals becomes high, the sand bed technique, as an air diffuser and as a carrier medium, can no longer be used and it becomes essential to draw up the ash from the grate fireplace.
Existing equipment for the realization
of ash removal differ from each other by the mechanical devices used to ensure the withdrawal of hot granular products in a reliable manner without deterioration of the mechanical parts.
The object of the present invention is to create a pneumatic apparatus intended to extract large quantities of ash from the combustion of very poor granular fuels, such as shales
<EMI ID = 1.1>
fluidized equipped at its base with a drawing-off device comprising no internal mechanical member, nor moving part subject to the conditions of the glowing ash medium.
The apparatus according to the invention, for the pneumatic production of the extraction of hot granulated products from a fluidized supply bed, is characterized in that it comprises a withdrawal device constituted by a vertical tube, the upper end of which is situated at the level of the diffuser of said fluidized bed and the lower end of which opens into a tank provided with a weir and a diffuser, through which a continuous or intermittent ascending gas flow circulates, in order to pre-fluidize or to fluidize the content of said tank and to allow the evacuation by the weir of the granulated product thus fluidized.
An installation comprising an apparatus in accordance with the invention is described below on the basis of the appended drawing, by way of example only, showing an axial schematic section through the installation.
In the installation shown in the drawing, the coal shale is fed in 1 by gravity using conventional systems, such as the Archimedes screw or by pneumatic projection. The granulated product falls into
a hearth 2, in which it is fluidized and burned by an upward flow of air and smoke.
The combustion air feeds the hearth by conduits 3 and by a metal diffuser 4 pierced in its center by a tube 5, largely dimensioned and surmounted by a cap 6. The granulated product subjected to intense convection movements is maintained at a temperature below the sintering point of sterile materials by the possible use of a heating surface immersed in the fluidized bed.
The tube 5 ends at one end 7, cut at a bevel, and enters a tank 8 provided with a spout
9, tank whose bottom is constituted by a metallic diffuser 10, distributing the pulsating air supplied from a box 11.
The tube 5, the tank 8 provided with its overflow 9, the grid 10 and the supply box 11 constitute the withdrawal device.
In the hearth 2 the granulated product flows through the annular space formed between the cap 6 and the grid 4, first falls in dense phase in the withdrawal conduit 5 and then in the tank 8, where it is made mobile in a pre-fluidized or fluidized bed by an ascending current of air coming from the box 11, in order to allow its flow and its evacuation by overflow at the weir 9 towards the recovery tank 12.
In the figure are represented some constructive details of the apparatus, which specify in particular that the length of the tube 5 containing the ashes in dense moving bed must be sufficient to create the static pressure necessary to ensure the flow of the granulated products while avoiding the circulation and mixing of the gas streams between the hearth 2 and the racking tank 8. In addition, the air supplied with 3 necessary for the hearth 2 is heated by the granulated hot ashes extracted in the tank 1.
It has already been reported that the use of the apparatus in accordance with the invention makes it possible to withdraw the ash by pulsating fluidization without moving mechanical parts. Four other advantages can be credited to this device, namely:
the device has very great flexibility due to the use of pulsating fluidization,
which performs a cycle of fluidization periods during which the granulated product can flow and periods without air blowing during which the bed becomes fixed without the possibility of ash circulation adjusting the sequence of the air pulsation frequencies blowing modulates the extraction of ash according to the flow rate of the hearth.
- The height H between the lower end of the withdrawal tube 5 and the overflow level of the weir 9 of the tank 8 is variable and can be adjusted positively or negatively, which also allows adjustment of the grain withdrawal rate;
in particular, the positioning of the withdrawal tube 5 below the level of the weir (H negative) further guarantees the stopping of the flow without risk of emptying the hearth, when the fluidization is interrupted, and the withdrawal device then operates as a shut-off valve.
- the extraction at the very base of the hearth ensures the evacuation of the ashes, especially those of large particle size, which tend to deposit in the bottom of the hearth.
- The device operating at atmospheric pressure as described in the present description can find application in an apparatus operating under pressure.
