Abstract

Fungicidal and acaricidal alkyl 2-benzimidazole camabate derivs. Cpds. of formula (I) (where R is CH3 or C2H5; A is CH2 or CH2CH2 opt. substd. by one or two CH3, Cl or Br, vinylene opt. substd. by CH3, Cl or Br, or o-phenylene) and particularly (I1 R-CH3, A=CH2CH2) (II) and (I; R=CH3, A = vinylene) are useful in control of a large variety of plant pathogenic fungi and show ovicidal effects on mites. (I) may be prepd. by cyclisation of methyl 2-benzimidazolylcarbamate, for example with succinyl chloride and NaHCO3 in CHCl3 (II) is obtained.
