<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Supply system for the heat engine of an installation for working materials by deformation.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to installations for working materials by deformation, in which one of the torque working tools is assembled to the piston of a heat engine, while the other is integral with the frame of the engine. installation (one of these installations was the subject of French patent No. 1 451 901 of
1965).
The present invention relates more particularly to the system for supplying the heat engine of an installation for working materials by deformation.
Supply systems are known which are used in internal combustion engines with a carburetor or with injection pumps. These systems ensure the flow of fuel to the engine suction line or directly to the combustion chamber.
However, the application of the known systems to the thermal engine of an installation for working materials by deformation is made problematic owing to the need to deliver liquid fuel to a cold combustion chamber having large dimensions. sions; filling then takes place in the presence of a constant volume of the chamber (during filling and combustion, the piston remains fixed).
The result is that the fuel is deposited on the walls of the combustion chamber and its ignition
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
therefore takes place under unstable conditions.
The aim of the present invention is to develop such a system for supplying the heat engine. an installation of. working of materials by deformation, which would ensure the filling of a combustion chamber of relatively large dimensions, with cold walls, without the fuel being deposited on said walls, and which would also ensure the stabilization of the infla, nation of the fuel .
In accordance with this objective, a system for supplying the heat engine of a plant for working materials by deformation is proposed, in which a special device is provided for mixing liquid fuel and air.
According to the invention, the mixer contains an inlet chamber communicating with the metering and injection pump, by means of a closure member, and with the hot air pipe and the mixing chambers. located directly upstream of the engine combustion chamber.
In a preferred variant of the fuel system according to the invention, the mixing chambers communicating with each other in succession are constituted by a hollow cylinder divided into compartments by webs the meshes of which decrease in the direction of movement. of the mixture.
A description of a concrete embodiment of the present invention is given below with reference to the accompanying drawing which represents the block diagram of the system.

langor y, there is provision for 'n (J1 \. :: .. 1' <'air 7 communicating with the intake chamber 4 through the orifice 8.
At the lower part of the intake chamber 4 there is a nozzle 9 by means of which the fuel is supplied to the channel 10 for the preliminary soaking of the fuel-air mixture forming an extension of the channel 7. The channel 10 commutes. nique with the series of mixing chambers It constituted by the cylinder 12 and the webs 13. The mixing chambers
11 are located directly upstream of the combustion chamber 14 from which they are separated by the metering valve 15.
The fuel-air mixture is brought to the combustion chamber 14 in the following manner. At the start, the compressed air in the compressor is brought through line 16 to the heater 17. After opening the valve 18, the air compressed opens into the air chamber 19 of the metering pump 2 passing through 'the pipe 20.
At this time, to the metering chamber 3 is fed the fuel from the channel 21. Under the air pressure in the chamber 19, the differential plunger 22 moves downwards and discharges the fuel from the chamber. 3 to the intake chamber 4 through the check valve 6.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
The heated compressed air passes simultaneously through line 23 which constitutes the extension of the line
20, and begins to fill the combustion chamber 14 when the valve 24 is open. When the prescribed pressure in the combustion chamber 14 is reached, the flow of primary air thereto ceases (the valve 18 closes, while the valve 25 opens).
When the valve 15 is open, the heated air supplied to the mixer 5 via the channel 7 opens into the intake chamber 4 and delivers the fuel therefrom to the channel 10 via the nozzle 9. In the channel 10 s' operate the preliminary orassage of fuel and air. Then .. the fuel-air mixture is brought to the mixing chambers 11 which it will pass through the webs 13 arranged one after the other. The closer the web is to the outlet of the mixer, the finer the webs will be. its stitches.
As the fuel passes through the webs 13, it is dispersed in particles so fine that an intensive evaporation of the fuel begins in the heated air. The mixture thus prepared passes through the valve 15 and opens into the combustion chamber 14.
The valve 25 closes and the heat engine starts. .sa - 'useful run. The potential energy of the fuel burned is transformed into kinetic energy of the tool acting on the material to be treated.
