When applying the method of the invention, the body of the subject or the being examined to which the contrast producing agent has been administered is exposed to x-rays, after which photographs or images can be taken. The image can be observed directly on a fluorescent screen or another x-ray method can be used in a conventional manner. When the composition of the invention is in the form of an aqueous solution, the concentration of iodine compounds used is chosen according to the field of use. Preferably, a concentration greater than 10 g per 100 ml of solution is chosen.
Normally, however, we choose a good concentration.

these hydrogen atoms exhibit a certain reactivity which is however very low. The formation of such side products can be prevented, if desired, by choosing mild reaction conditions and an excess of iodo-monocarboxylic acids over those produced for the formation of the bridge (the excess of these acids can be recovered and be used in the next batch).
It is not necessary to remove the monocarboxylic acids and the aforementioned by-products since they are acceptable to the body. If you want to completely avoid training

Example 4
In a manner analogous to that described in Example 1, 0.1 mole of 3-acetylamino-5-acetylamino-metyl 1-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid was reacted with 0.05 mole of epichlorohydrin or with 0.05 mole of epibromchydrine or with 0.05 mole of dichlorohydrin.
The resulting dioarboxylic acid was purified as described in Example 1.
Example 5
Solutions were prepared from each of the dicarboxylic acids obtained in Examples 1, 2, 3 and 4 as follows.
40 g of substance and equivalent amounts of methylglucamine were dissolved in water to obtain a volume of solution of 100 ml. Or adjusted the pH to between 7.3-7.4. The solution was filtered and poured into vials which were sealed and sterilized in an autoclave.
Example 6
The solutions of Example 5 were injected into the blood vessels of rabbits and then these blood vessels could be made visible by means of x-rays and photographs.
Subsequent exposure to x-rays and a photograph of the gastric area showed excellent filling producing contrast of the renal pelvis, ureters and bladders.
Example
The solutions of Example 5 were administered orally to rabbits and thus the gastrointestinal tract could be made visible by means of x-rays and photographs, with excellent results.
Example 8
Solutions of the sodium salts of compounds prepared in a manner analogous to that described in Example 5 and containing 20 g of dicarboxylic acids per 100 ml of solution were administered rectally to rabbits in the form a ' an enema and thus the intestines were observed by means of x-rays and photographs, with good results.
