L'invention a pour objet une table à coulisses remarquable ' par sa grande commodité d'utilisation attendu que les quatre pieds sont toujours, en position allongée comme en position repliée, aux deux extrémités du meuble; en les inclinant vers l'extérieur comme il est usuel de le faire actuellement, aucune des personnes prenant place autour de la table ne sera jamais gênée par les pieds et par conséquent une table de dimensions données pourra convenir à un nombre maximum de convives, avec l'aisance désirée pour chacun.
La table suivant l'invention se compose de trois parties prin- cipales : deux corps coulissant l'un dans l'autre, chacun d'eux

muni de pieds à son extrémité extérieure, le corps formant rallon- ge étant le seul à comporter son plateau; et un plateau indépen- dant ajustable sur ce corps principal et couvrant toute la super- ' ficie de la table en position repliée.
Dans cette position, le plateau principal se superpose à l'un de ses bouts au plateau- ,rallonge, tandis qu'en position allongée les deux plateaux doi- vent se trouver de niveau ; unecaractéristique de l'invention con- siste dans un dispositif à béquilles, décrit ci-après, prévu pour empocher toute dénivellation du plateau principal en position re- pliée de la table.
Le dessin ci-joint représente à titre d'exemple un mode d'exé- cution de l'invention. La fig. 1 montre d'une façon schématique, en coupe verticale longitudinale, la table en position repliée normale, la fig. 2 est une vue semblable en phase d'allongement et la fig. 3 en position allongée. La fig. 4 montre en perspecti- ve le plateau principal séparé, et la fig. 5, les deux corps avec leurs pieds, le plateau du corps-rallonge étant dessiné en trait pointillé pour laisser voir son support, bien qu'il en soit soli- daire, La fig. 6 est un détail, montrant une béquille à plus gran- de échelle.
Le corps principal 1 et le corps-rallonge 2 chacun muni (de manière solidaire ou amovible) de ses pieds d'extrémité 3 ou 4, sont assemblés l'un à l'autre par des coulisses 5 comme il est bien connu. Le corps-rallonge 2 comporte son plateau 6 tandis que le corps principal ne comporte que le cadre 1 formant support pour un plateau indépendant 7 qui a les dimensions voulues pour couvrir toute la superficie de la table en position repliée comme dans la fig. 1.
Pour allonger la table, on tire le corps 2 avec ses pieds comme f ig. 2; et le plateau-rallonge 6 vient se placer à la suite du plateau principal 7 comme fig. 3, reposant au même niveau que lui sur les cadres 1 et 2. four replier la table il suffit de soulever le bord 7' du plateau 7 qui n'est pas lié à son support et de repousser sous

lui le plateau 6 de la rallonge.
On voit qu'en position repliée (fig. 1) le plateau 7 reposant à l'un de ses bouts sur la rallonge 6 doit, pour rester horizon- tal, être à son autre bout surélevé de son épaisseur au dessus de la surface de support du corps 1 correspondant. Pour cela, on a monté, sur la face inférieure du plateau 7 et vers son extrémité, une paire de béquilles 8 chacune oscillant librement sur l'axe 9' d'une charnière 9 fixée au plateau; et, pour coopérer aveo ces béquilles, on a muni le corps-rallonge 2 de deux longerons 10 terminés chacun par une cuvette 11 qui vient, lorsque le plateau 6 est complètement rentra sous le plateau 7, se placer sous la béquille correspondante.
Il suffit de soulever légèrement le pla- teau 7, par exemple en appuyant sur l'extrémité opposée 7', pour laisser les béquilles libres de se placer verticales, puis de lais- ser le plateau reposer par ses'béquilles sur l'extrémité 11 des longerons 10 pour que le plateau soit maintenu horizontal. Pour cacher l'intervalle i entre le plateau et le cadre-support 1, on peut fixer sous le plateau, de chaque côté, une planchette 12 re- posant sur le cadre 1 ou formant recouvrement intérieur ou exté- ' rieur. Bien entendu des moyens quelconques sont prévus tels que des tiges 13 fixées sous le plateau et destinées à pénétrer dans des trous 13' du cadre-support, pour assurer l'emplacement correct du plateau 7 sur son support.

"EXTENSION TABLE"
The object of the invention is a sliding table which is remarkable for its ease of use, given that the four legs are always, in the extended position as in the folded position, at both ends of the cabinet; by tilting them outwards as is customary at present, none of the people sitting around the table will ever be hampered by their feet and therefore a table of given dimensions may be suitable for a maximum number of guests, with the ease desired for each.
The table according to the invention consists of three main parts: two bodies sliding one inside the other, each of them

provided with feet at its outer end, the body forming the extension being the only one to include its plate; and an independent table top adjustable on this main body and covering the entire surface of the table in the folded position.
In this position, the main plate is superimposed at one of its ends on the extension plate, while in the extended position the two plates must be level; One characteristic of the invention consists of a device with crutches, described below, provided to pocket any difference in level of the main plate in the folded position of the table.
The accompanying drawing shows by way of example one embodiment of the invention. Fig. 1 schematically shows, in longitudinal vertical section, the table in the normal folded position, FIG. 2 is a similar view in the elongation phase and FIG. 3 lying down. Fig. 4 shows in perspective the separate main plate, and fig. 5, the two bodies with their feet, the top of the extension body being drawn in dotted lines to show its support, although it is integral with it, FIG. 6 is a detail, showing a crutch on a larger scale.
The main body 1 and the extension body 2 each provided (integrally or removably) with its end feet 3 or 4, are assembled to each other by slides 5 as is well known. The extension body 2 comprises its plate 6 while the main body comprises only the frame 1 forming a support for an independent plate 7 which has the desired dimensions to cover the entire surface of the table in the folded position as in FIG. 1.
To lengthen the table, the body 2 is pulled with its feet as fig. 2; and the extension plate 6 is placed after the main plate 7 as FIG. 3, resting at the same level as it on frames 1 and 2.Oven fold up the table, simply lift the edge 7 'of the plate 7 which is not linked to its support and push back under

We see that in the folded position (fig. 1) the plate 7 resting at one of its ends on the extension 6 must, in order to remain horizontal, be at its other end raised by its thickness above the surface of body support 1 corresponding. For this, we mounted, on the underside of the plate 7 and towards its end, a pair of crutches 8 each oscillating freely on the axis 9 'of a hinge 9 fixed to the plate; and, to cooperate with these crutches, the body-extension 2 has been provided with two side members 10 each terminated by a bowl 11 which comes, when the plate 6 is completely returned under the plate 7, to be placed under the corresponding crutch.
It suffices to lift the platform 7 slightly, for example by pressing on the opposite end 7 ', to leave the crutches free to be placed vertically, then to let the platform rest by its crutches on the end 11 side members 10 so that the plate is kept horizontal. In order to conceal the gap i between the plate and the support frame 1, it is possible to fix under the plate, on each side, a board 12 resting on the frame 1 or forming an interior or exterior covering. Of course any means are provided such as rods 13 fixed under the plate and intended to penetrate into holes 13 'of the support frame, to ensure the correct location of the plate 7 on its support.
