L
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>

liquid heated directly inside the casing 15. This coil comprises, along the tubes, perpendicular sheets starting from the various tubes and which serve to transmit the excess heat from the circulating liquid to the air.
It is obvious that it is also possible to provide, perpendicular to the various tubes, fins, alone or in addition, in order to increase this action if necessary.
The return of the liquid leaving the heat exchanger 28, in which it has cooled, for example water, takes place through a return line 40 to a three-way valve 41 and a line 42 to a vessel expansion tank 43. This vessel, as usually partially filled with liquid, has a float valve 44 ..
From the expansion vessel, the liquid is brought through a pipe 45 into the interior space of the casing 15.
There it is reheated again, so that the circulation process can continue continuously. A circulation pump 46 is mounted in the return line 45 to accelerate the circulation of the liquid.
On the bottom of the lower part 8 is provided at least one tubular connector 50 comprising a valve for filling or discharging the liquid into the interior space of the casing 15.
The heat exchanger 28 can also be used to cool the air supplied through opening 20 and leaving through opening 26. For this purpose, return line 40 can be separated from line 42 by the valve. three-way 41 and connected to a water distribution pipe 51 supplied with cold water, so that the heat exchanger 28 is crossed by water

in the opposite direction to that of the case where the air was heated. An outlet pipe 63 is connected to the pipe 30 and, in the event of cooling of the air, it is opened by a tap 63a and allows the water to escape from the heat exchanger 28. now heated.
The coils of the heat exchanger 28 now serve, with their cooling fins, to cool the air exiting through the outlet 27. As a result of the cooling of the air, some of the moisture which 'it contains can be caused to condense and so is extracted from the air. It is obvious that, independently, the lower part of the appliance can be heated, as well as the distribution of hot water, for example for the kitchen and the baths, but also a central heating with hot water. , can be preserved, the ambient temperature can be kept constant by such heating, if, by cooling the air, only dehydration is sought.
The heat exchanger 28 may precede, in the path of the air circulating between the opening 25a of the intermediate partition and the outlet opening 26, a second heat exchanger 31, intended exclusively for cooling the air. This heat exchanger 31 may also include a coil (not visible in the drawing) made of horizontal finned tubes, between which the air circulates from bottom to top. These finned tubes serve as an evaporator for a refrigerant fluid, for example freon, which is brought to it in the liquid state by a tube 32 coming from the condenser (not shown) of a refrigeration installation.
The refrigerant vapor is returned to the refrigeration installation through a tube 33 and a separator.

liquid tor, to a compressor (not shown) which compresses it and returns it to the above condenser to liquefy it.
This arrangement allows the air, for example relatively humid flowing from the opening 25a to the outlet opening 26, to be cooled greatly by means of the heat exchanger 31, than the desired proportion of steam. of water it contains condenses and settles in all form - liquid and thus heats up to its initial temperature or any other desired temperature, the cooled air containing a smaller absolute quantity of water using the hot liquid sent to the heat exchanger 28 from the interior space of the casing 15; in this way, its relative humidity is reduced.
If it is not necessary to reheat the air inside the appliance, for example if you want to cool it down, not its dehydration, but simply in summer with the heating off, the reduction of its temperature, it is possible to omit the second heat exchanger 31 and to use only the first heat exchanger 28 as described with water from the distribution. Conversely, this second heat exchanger 31 makes it useful to connect the heat exchanger to the heater 28 to the cold water inlet pipe 51, since it can perform any air cooling. for 'air.
When the air is heated, one may wish to bring its relative humidity at the outlet of the apparatus, by adding water, to a value greater than that which it had without this operation.

To this end, in the exemplary embodiment described, there is provided in at least one, but preferably in the two combustion chambers 1 and 2, another serpentine 60, preferably fixed to the upper part. of the combustion chamber. This coil can be supplied with water from the interior space of the casing 15 and provided with a tubular pipe shown only schematically 34, with at least one spray nozzle 35 in the upper part 8 and this preferably before the heat exchanger 28.
The coil
60 can be connected to a hygrometer placed in the premises of use, so that humidity control can be effected, for example by means of a solenoid valve 61.
To evacuate the condensed water deposited during! r during the operation of the heat exchanger 28, as well as in the event of a damage or a leak, for example in the expansion vessel 43 or any other organ containing liquid, the upper part 8 is provided with a liquid discharge connection 62.
An outlet pipe 63 is connected to pipe 30, it is opened by a tap 63a in the event of cooling of the air and allows the water which is now heated to be evacuated from the heat exchanger 28 *
The temperatures of the liquid heated directly by one or both combustion chambers 1 and 2 in the lower part 3 of the appliance can be controlled by a boiler thermostat (not shown
In the apparatus shown, it is also possible to supply directly from the interior space of the casing 15 to radiators the directly heated liquid, preferably water,
so that we have in
