<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
gitudinaux.

The present invention relates to a device for closing containers of flexible plastic material, normally of a thermoplasticizable material, such as polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, etc., of the type, at least some of whose sides are closed by welding, these containers being intended to contain a liquid or pasty product.
Such a closing device can in particular be applied to containers formed by an elongated envelope which is filled with a liquid or pasty product and then subdivided by transverse welds into separate sections, such that after cutting each section constitutes an independent container containing the desired quantity of this pasty or liquid product.
The elongated envelope may be formed by a continuous sheath.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
bare or by two long leaves welded along their longitudinal edges. The closure device can also be applied to containers formed starting from two sheets on which both transverse and longitudinal welds are practiced to produce said containers, the liquid or pasty product being introduced into the containers after at least partial formation of these.
The closure device according to the invention can obviously also be applied to other types of receptacles made of flexible thermoplastic material, the types of receptacles mentioned above therefore being given only as examples.
According to the invention, such a closing device consists of an elongated element or sprue, made of a material substantially more rigid than that of which the walls of the container are formed and pressed into an opening which the latter presents, this sprue being mounted sealing in the opening and being shaped so as to have a channel allowing the discharge of the pasty or liquid product to the outside of the container.
The core is preferably made of metal, of a plastic material harder than that of which the container is formed, or of other similar hard material.
The core will obviously be mounted to seal in the opening of the container, for example, thanks to the elastic force exerted by the material thereof at the location of this opening, and / or by welding.
According to a particular embodiment, the carrot is mounted in an elongated part of the container, forming the neck.
In this case, the seal will again be obtained by virtue of the elastic pressure of the material of the neck on the core, and / or by welding.
According to a particular embodiment, the part of
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the core intended to be clamped in the neck of the container is provided with at least one collar connecting to the core by a gentle slope on the side of the container and by a steep slope on the outlet side, the two connecting surfaces forming a sharp circular edge, so that the introduction of the., carrot in the container is done easily, while its extraction is all the more difficult as the walls of the container, molding the profile of the collar, harden after a certain time.
The channel provided in the core may be closed off by a stopper applying externally or internally to the core, for example by screwing. Or again, this channel can be blocked by a membrane or other element to be released or perforated to allow the exit of the liquid or pasty product. @
Other details and particulars of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended hereto and which represent, by way of nonlimiting examples, two particular embodiments of the subject of the invention.
Figure 1 is a partial sectional view of a closure device according to the invention and carrot, smooth.
Figure 2 is a partial sectional view of a closure device according to the invention and sprue provided with collars.
Figure 3 is an overall view of a container provided with a closure device according to the invention.
In the various figures, the same reference notations designate similar elements.
The closure device shown in Figure 1 comprises a core 1 made of a rigid material such as a metal or semi-rigid, for example plastic. A container 2 made of a flexible and thermoplasticizable plastic material is preferably made from a continuous sheath or alternatively from a casing or hose formed from two elongated sheets welded along their long edges.

gitudinal. The sheath filled beforehand with a liquid or pasty product is subdivided by transverse welds 3 into a series of separate sections. This operation is carried out in such a way that each section is terminated by a narrow part or neck 4 formed by welding the walls of the sheath together.
After the sheath has been cut, the channel remaining in the neck 4 receives the core 1 which is driven therein and is held there by the elastic force exerted by the wall of the latter.
The connection thus produced is protected against impacts and scratches by a flange 5 surrounding the free end 6 of the core 1, emerging from the container 2. A longitudinal channel 7, passing through the core 1, right through, puts the inside of the container 2 in communication with the outside. A removable cap 8, screwed onto the free end .6, closes the outlet of the channel 7. The glue. rette 5 prevents, on the other hand, the product ejected from the container 2 from spilling onto the latter.
The core 1 of the closure device shown in Figure 2 is provided with collars 9 connecting to the core 1 by a gentle slope 10 on the side of the container 2 and by a steep slope II on the outlet side. These two connecting surfaces form a sharp edge 11 encrusted in the wall of the receptacle 2 and retaining the core 1 in place.
On the other hand, core 1 is also retained by beads 13 formed by the wall of container 2 around collar 9.
The embodiments shown in the drawings are obviously only examples. One could in particular use a core 1 in a container 2 not comprising a neck 4, said core being introduced, with fixing by welding for example, into an opening of the container 2.
A core 1 mounted in a neck 4 could be made integral with the latter by a collar outside the neck and ens-

rant the whole.
The stopper 8 is screwed on the outside on the core 1 can be mounted inside the latter, also by screwing or in another way. A membrane could also be provided as a sealing for the channel 7, which would have to be removed or pierced to allow the product to exit. It could still be a cap, capsule, etc. Likewise, provision could be made for an exhaust duct of a certain length to be able to be mounted on the outside of the core.
In fact, it must therefore be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described but that many variations can be made to the latter without departing from the scope of the present patent.
