Dans ce but, lesdits trous d'admission d'air secondaire sont inclinés par rapport au plan diamétral correspondant de l'en- veloppe, afin de donner à la flamme un mouvement de rotation au- tour de l'axe longitudinal de l'enveloppe cylindrique, provoquant ainsi un tourbillon favorisant le brassage et donc la combustion du mélange gazeux;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

at said inlet orifice, said chamber further containing an electric heating resistor, supplied with low voltage, causing the initial ignition of the liquid fuel.
In an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, said chamber has, above the catalyst, two small openings and, in a side wall, a relatively large opening at the height of said resistance, creating a call. air favoring the initial ignition, said large opening being closed by a bimetal shutter device when the temperature required for normal operation is reached, the pair of said upper openings then serving for the call for air instead of the exhaust of gases as during ignition.
In another advantageous embodiment of the invention, said heating resistor is switched off, when the temperature has reached the required value, by a thermal switch placed in the outlet of the combustion gases.
It is also possible, according to the present invention, to improve the combustion of the gas mixture by causing the latter to be brazed in the burner.
For this purpose, said secondary air intake holes are inclined with respect to the corresponding diametral plane of the casing, in order to give the flame a rotational movement around the longitudinal axis of the casing. cylindrical, thus causing a vortex promoting the stirring and therefore the combustion of the gas mixture;
On the other hand, the products of the gasification of liquid fuel may contain sulfur dioxide (SO2), under the influence of the catalyst promoting gasification, this sulfur dioxide is transformed into sulfur dioxide (SO3) in gas, combustion, and causes corrosion of the exhaust pipes.
In order to remedy this drawback, in the burner sui. before the invention, a second catalyst, said negative by apposition
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the first catalyst, said positive, placed in the lower part of the casing, is provided at the upper part of said casing, preferably in the vicinity of said secondary air intake holes, in order to prevent transformation into Auluric anhydride (SO3) of the sulfur anhydride (SO2) contained in the gasification products of liquid fuel.
In one embodiment of the object of the invention, the so-called negative catalyst is formed by covering the metal of the casing, at its upper part, with other bodies containing metals such as copper, platinum, cadmium, etc., to form a porous surface.
In another embodiment, the envelope is covered, by successive electrolysis, with copper, platinum and cadmium salts.
In a preferred embodiment, the order. electrolysis succession, for the so-called negative catalyst, is different from that adopted for the formation of the so-called positive catalyst from the bottom of the casing.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, a ring of refractory material, accumulating a calorific power, is placed in the middle part of the casing, below the air intake holes. secondary, in order to maintain a temperature favorable to the complete gasification of the liquid fuel.
Other details and features of the invention emerge from the description of an embodiment, given below without limitation and with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a vertical elevational view. @ale, partially in section, of a liquid fuel burner according to the invention.

before the liquid fuel supply.
A relatively large opening 32 is made in a side wall of the chamber 27, at the height of the heating resistor 31. This opening can be closed by a bimetal closure device 33. The device 33 is provided to leave the opening 32 open on ignition and to shut it off when the normal operating temperature is reached. A perforated plate 34 for the diffusion of the gases is disposed between the resistor 32 and the plate 26.
The initial ignition then takes place as follows:
The heating resistor 31 is energized, causing the vaporization and ignition of the liquid fuel.
This is aided by the air circulation from the side opening 32 to the upper openings 30 and thus constituting a first draft before normal operation of the burner.
When the required temperature is reached, the bimetal device 53 closes the side opening 32 and therefore the upper openings change their role: from gas discharge openings they become air intake openings. The resistor 31 is switched off by a thermal switch (not shown), arranged in the chimney or the combustion gas discharge pipes, when the normal automatic operation of the burner has started.
The products of the gasification of liquid fuel may contain sulfur dioxide (SO2) which converts in the flue gases to sulfur trioxide (SO3), causing corrosion of the exhaust pipes.
In order to avoid this harmful transformation, the internal wall of the plate 4 is covered with a deposit of metals such as copper, cadmium and platinum, so as to produce a so-called negative catalyst as opposed to the catalyst placed at the bottom. of the burner vessel, acting as a positive catalyst to promote the gasification and combustion of the liquid fuel.
