Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   Dans l'exemple illustré, la fusée 1 prend appui sur le moyeu de la roue 2 par les roulements 11-12: l'axe 6 présente un tronçon conique   Il prolongé   par un tronçon cylindrique   14 de   moindre diamètre. Le   montant     2.est,   par sa partie inférieure, articulé à deux bielles convergentes 15-16 lesquelles sont, par leur autre bout, articulées sur des pivots, respectivement 17-18, prenant appui sur des coussinets formés par le profil de pièces d'appui, respectivement 19-20, fixées sur l'infrastructure du véhicule;

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

   The subject of the invention is a device with independent wheels for motor vehicles of all kinds and more especially suitable for vehicles with high loads and in particular motor vehicles for public transport, industrial vehicles, military vehicles and others, while the same device could perfectly be adapted for lighter vehicles.

   This device is essentially characterized in that the axis or spindle of the wheel is articulated at least at two points of a vertical or slightly inclined axis, the support of which is itself articulated at the end of two pairs of converging connecting rods two by two. and articulated at their other end on pivots bearing on a fixed part of the vehicle infrastructure, the same support of said axis of the wheel being articulated at the end of at least one shock absorber, the other end of which is also articulated around 'a pivot bearing on a fixed part of the vehicle infrastructure.

   By this relatively very simple combination of easy and economical manufacture, an extremely simple, individual connection for the wheels of the vehicle or at least for the steering wheels is produced.

   The converging rods produce a kinematic system of great stability. The various supports, respectively of the spindle of the wheel and of the axis of oscillation thereof, can be made in a compact and robust manner. The connecting rods, by virtue of their number and their relative arrangement, can be made in relatively light linkages.

   This new kinematic combination can obviously be achieved in different constructive forms while keeping the essential characteristics.

   Such an embodiment is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic front view of the front axle of a vehicle applying the device which is the subject of the invention; Figure 2 is a schematic plan view of the arrangement of Figure 1; FIGS. 3a and 3b represent, in cross section, the device which is the subject of the invention, these two figures having to be juxtaposed along the axis A-B; FIG. 4 is an elevational view of the common support for the oscillation axes of the device, on the infrastructure side of the vehicle; FIG. 5 is a view from below of this support; FIG. 6 represents, on the left, a half-view along the arrow F of FIG. 4 and, on the right, a half-section along the line VI-VI of FIG. 4.

   In this embodiment, the device with independent wheels is substantially constituted as follows: the spindle 1 of the wheel 2 is integral with a support 1 comprising, among others, two parallel arms 4-5 provided with the same bore, the longitudinal axes of which are an extension of each other; these axes can be perpendicular or oblique with respect to the longitudinal axis of said rocket 1. In the example shown in the figures, said axis is slightly inclined. Said support ,, by its arms 4-5, is articulated on an axis 6 resting, by its two ends, on the lateral shoulders 7-8 of an upright 2. superiorly terminated by a plate 10. This upright may be parallel or oblique with respect to said axis 6.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   In the example illustrated, the spindle 1 is supported on the hub of the wheel 2 by the bearings 11-12: the axis 6 has a conical section II extended by a cylindrical section 14 of smaller diameter. The amount 2 is, by its lower part, articulated to two converging rods 15-16 which are, by their other end, articulated on pivots, respectively 17-18, bearing on bearings formed by the profile of parts of support, respectively 19-20, fixed on the vehicle infrastructure;

   similarly, by its upper part, the same amount 9 is articulated at the end of two other converging rods 21-22 preferably arranged in a plane parallel to that containing the two converging rods 15-16 and also articulated by their other end, via a common axis 23, to the vehicle infrastructure on which said common axis 23 is supported by small bearings such as 24. Preferably, the two pairs of converging connecting rods 15-16, on the one hand, and 21-22. on the other hand, have a different angular difference. On the aforesaid plate 10 of the upright 2 acts a strong coil spring 25bearing, on the other hand, on the corresponding part of the vehicle infrastructure. Generally, the longitudinal axis of this spring ± will be parallel to axis 6.

   Finally, the upright 9 is still, by its upper part, articulated at the end of a shock absorber 26 articulated by its other end to the infrastructure of the vehicle and this shock absorber is preferably disposed in the bisecting plane with respect to the pairs. convergent connecting rods, respectively 15-16 and 21-22. This bisector plane is itself perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.

   With a view to a simplified construction, all the anticulation pivots of the two pairs of converging connecting rods 15-16 and 21-22 and of the shock absorber 26. on the infrastructure side of the vehicle, can be supported on a common support forming a removable construction. in relation to said infrastructure.

   Such an example is schematically shown in Figures 4-5-6. In this case, this common support consists of a kind of box 27 substantially T-shaped whose head 28 carries, on two opposite sides 29-30, pairs of bearings, respectively 31-32 and 33-34; likewise, the foot 35 of said box carries, on either side, in alignment with the preceding ones, two pairs of bearings, respectively 36-37 and 38-39. On the pairs of upper bearings 31-32 and 33-34 come to articulate, on either side, the converging rods 15-16; on the pairs of lower bearings 36-37 come to articulate the converging rods 21-22.

   The damper is articulated on a pivot bearing on a pad 40 disposed symmetrically between the two pairs of lower pads 36-37, all of these lower pads having the same longitudinal axis.

   As can be seen, this construction provides, in fact, a common support for all the pivots of the device, on the infrastructure side.

   This device will obviously be supplemented by all the accessories of use in the technique of fixing the wheels of vehicles, in particular with regard to the mutual fixing means of the different components, the lubrication of the moving parts and the safety means, these provisions accessories being moreover common to all the devices ensuring the elastic connection and the mobility of the wheels on the vehicle.
