ROBINET D'OBTURATION .
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

SHUT-OFF VALVE.
The present invention relates to a new type of sealing device for a shut-off valve and its simplified construction in correlation with this device.
In order to obtain a sealed seat and a satisfactory seal at the. the key of the tap to the outside, the key of the tap: until now receives a conical ton.
This requires not only precise observation of the taper angle of the key wall and in the plug hole but also precise dimensions. as regards the stop receiving the axial application pressure. After repeated running-in of the cone, it becomes necessary to add annular plates to the axial stop in order to eliminate the axial play resulting from the lapping. These complicated measures are not necessary in the realization according to the present invention.
This consists in that the cylindrical rod, narrowed to pass through the cover of the valve, is provided at its free end with a square or hexagonal bearing, and the cylindrical key is also sealed by a rubber ring, advantageously circular in section, which is placed in a triangular un'rainure of the valve cover.
This cover consists here of two plates of the same thickness provided

holes for the passage of the shank of the key and for the fixing screws. The triangular groove arises from the fact that the holes in the two plates for the shank of the key are tapered to the same depth on the sides facing each other. Of the plates. The plate rested; ..! directly on the flange of the plug serves as a stop for the axial dust of the key, while the other end of the latter is guided in a dead-end hole inside the ooissea.u, in -below canals.
In the region of the control channels, the faucet key is received in a cylindrical hole. The passage to the key is obtained by eccentric turning of the key of the valve turned for the rest cylindrically on all the sections. In the closed position, the starting channel is closed by the surface of the key, and the recess is turned towards the supply channel, so that by the pressure of the air or the liquid, a waterproof application of the key against the channel covered by it.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention in FIG. 1 in longitudinal section passing through the axis of the key, in fig.2 in a cross section through 2-2, and in fig. 3 in top view of the base cover.
The bushel g is drilled in b at its upper part and is provided at its lower u-shaped part with a dead end hole of the same diameter to receive the key k, turned cylindrically. The upper part z of the rod with a slightly smaller diameter begins at the plane o of the flange of the plug.
The key is held in its seat against any longitudinal displacement by the cover. 9. of the flange; between the two covers p and o, has been inserted, in the hole for the passage of the rod z, in the annular groove c formed by the recesses facing each other, a rubber ring r of advantageously circular section which applies when tightening the covers 2 and .9. on the upper part of the plug by tightening the fixing screws tightly against the rod and against the walls of the annular groove. In the width of the inlet channel e and the channel of,

starting a, we a'créé in the median body s of the key a recess d for the passage of the operating fluid.
In the closed position of the key, the recess d assumes the position indicated by the arc of a circle t in broken lines, so that the remaining part of the body can be pressed tightly against the mouth of the cylinder. canala.
