<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

IMPROVEMENTS AT CAMP TENTS.
The present invention relates to camping tents and more specifically aims to bring improvements to them which make it possible to mount with the same vertical poles either the single tent or the double roof tent, without complicating the assembly or giving rise to the drawbacks. of the current construction.
In this case, in fact, the lower roof fixing system, in the case of a tent with a double roof, makes it impossible or difficult to use the tent alone.
According to the invention, no. The top of the mounting pole, as intended to support the tent alone, may be mounted. a mast section of appropriate height provided with the fixing member (point or other) of the flysheet. So depending on whether or not this additional mast section is used, a tent with a double roof can be set up without difficulty or the tent alone. In addition, the tent proper has along its ridge line, between the eyelets crossed by the vertical poles, fixing members to which are attached corresponding members carried by the ridge pole.

Finally, the invention also provides at the base of the wall of the tent the formation externally to it, of a fold held on the ground by stakes, with the aim of adding a strong horizontal tension to the vertical tension carried out united - only in the current construction.
The drawing appended to this specification shows only by way of example one embodiment of the various improvements proposed.
Fig. I is a schematic elevation view of a double roof tent with a wall.
Fig. 2 is a view of the upper part of a mounting pole for a double roof tent.
Fig.3 is a perspective view of part of the tent wall.
Fig.4 is a partial view of the top of a flysheet tent.
In general (Fig. I) the actual tent I is supported by vertical poles 2 and its roof is extended by a gutter 3 and vertical walls 4. Tensioners 5 secure it to the ground.
The vertical masts 2 are constituted in a known manner by telescopic tubes or by several sections provided with fitting rings 6, the tube or the upper section being surmounted by a point 7, to which an eyelet 8 provided in the tent roof.
In the case where one wishes to protect the tent I by a flysheet 9 (Fig. I and 2), the invention provides for the use of an additional section 2a provided with end ferrules 2b and also surmounted by a point 7.This section 2a is drilled longitudinally at its base so as to be able to be fixed on the point 7 surmounting the section or the upper tube of the normal mast 2. The length of the additional section 2a depends on the spacing to be provided between the two roofs of the tent.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Under these conditions, to mount the flysheet 9 on tent I, it suffices to fix on each back vertical masts 2 an additional section 2a of the type described. This section will therefore rest on the eyelet 8 of the lower roof. Then the eyelets 10 are hung. from the roof 9 to the points 7 of the sections 2a, after having optionally braced / the poles 2 by a ridge pole.
On the other hand, the tent I may have over its length between the vertical poles 2 one or more slides or loops II of any shape and material, to which hooks 12 are attached suspended from flanges 13 carried by the pole. fâitage 14 (Fig. 4). These straps could obviously be replaced by loop straps or any other suitable device, in order to replace the straps usually known on the tent when a flysheet is used. Tensioners such as 15 keep as usual. - study the flysheet 9 on the ground.
Finally, generally the canvas constituting the vertical wall 4 is folded inside the tent to protect the edges of the groundsheet 16 and this wall is only fixed to the ground by two or three stakes providing only vertical tension. horizontal tension and thus achieve a perfect closure, the invention provides for the formation in the canvas of the wall 4 of an outer fold 17 (Fig.3), the lower part of which extends at I7a inside the tent. In addition, this fold 17 is reinforced by a strap strip 18 provided with eyelets 19 through which fixing stakes 20 pass. The groundsheet 16 is placed as usual on the edge 17 @ of the wall.
It is understood that these improvements can be applied whatever the shape of the tent and its elements.
