   Appareil thermostatique réglable RAUWERS ET VOISIN destiné à régler la température de i'eau de circulation servant au refroidissement des moteurs à combustion interne. 



    DESCRIPTION.   



   L'appareil comprend un carter (a) fermé par un couvercle (b) et muni de trois ouvertures (c) (d) (e) pour l'entrée et la sortie de l'eau de circulation, Un boisseau (f) pivotant sur un axe (g) est relié à un récipient (h) par l'intermédiaire des pièces (i) et (j). Le récipient (h) est supporté d'autre part, par un fond (k) pivotant sur un axe (1). 



  Un liquide ou gaz ayant la propriété de se dilater par la chaleur est enfermé dans le récipient extensible (h) lequel, par l'intermédiaire des pièces (i( et (j) fait pivoter le boisseau (f) qui vient masquer ou démasquer les ouvertures (d) et (e). 



   FONCTIONNEMENT. 



   L'eau arrivant du moteur, entre dans l'appareil par l'ouverture   (0). Dette   eau étant froide, trouve la sortie (d) vers les radiateurs fermée par le boisseau   (f).   Elle doit emprunter la sortie (e) qui la conduit à l'entrée de la pompe à eau ou à la base de la chemise d'eau du moteur quand celui-ci ne comporte pas de pompe. La température nécessaire au bon fonctionnement est ainsi atteinte en un temps très court. 



  Aussitôt que la température augmente, le récipient se dilate provoquant la rotation du boisseau et, de ce fait, l'ouverture de la sortie (d) vers les radiateurs. L'eau se refroidissant, un mouvement inverse se produit. A une ouverture de la sortie

 l'arc formé par le boisseau ayant une grandeur égale à celle de l'arc de métal plein séparant les deux ouvertures (d) et (e). 



  Grâce à ce dispositif, l'eau trouve pour sa sortie, une ouverture d'une grandeur toujours égale. Les possibilités de réglage du Thermostat RAUWERS & VOISIN sont obtenues de deux manières: I .- En vissant ou dévissant la tige filetée (j) dans la rotule (i).
