Fig.3 son application dans une rainure dans laquelle la fenêtre à coulisse ou la porte à coulisse se déplace;

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Sealing device for windows, doors and the like.
The object of the invention consists of a sealing device for windows, doors and the like, which is shown in various exemplary embodiments in the accompanying drawing.
Fig.1 shows partially in section and in elevation a window or door frame provided with the sealing device according to the invention; Fig. 2 shows the application of the sealing device to a window or door leaf, and
Fig.3 its application in a groove in which the sliding window or sliding door moves;
Figs.4 and 5 show in section an external sealing device.
According to Fig.l, elastic bands 3 of metal, celluloid waxed paper, fiber, or other elastic material are fixed in half-grooves of the window or door frame 1, for example by means of nails. . The free edge of the bands deviates:

you freely. When closing, the window or door leaf comes to rest against these strips and pushes them partially into an extended position, so that the strips rest quite strongly against the leaf and ensure the seal. the seal between the leaf and the frame thus preventing the penetration of water, dust, noise and the like inside the chamber.
According to Fig.2, the elastic bands 3 are fixed to the movable window or door leaf.
If it is a door, slide or window, the arrangement according to Fig. 3, elastic bands 3 can then be provided.
The fastening of the bands 3 can also be effected in any other way, for example by inserting into a suitably shaped housing. It is also optionally possible to use a sticky material for the fastening,
Instead of the embodiments described, where the elastic bands 3 are fixed in a half-groove (Figs, 1 and 2) or in a groove (Fig. 3) of the window or the door, or else in combination with these embodiments, similar elastic bands can also be provided on the outside of the window or door.
In Fig. 4, on the outer side of the window or door leaf 2 is fixed an elastic band 5 which is applied from the outside on the window or door frame 1, The band 5 is advantageously provided longitudinally of a convex part 5 'which, when the leaf is closed, engages in a corresponding groove of the frame 1.
Fig.5 shows the reverse arrangement, according to which the elastic band 5 is fixed to the fixed frame 1 and is applied by its free, elastic edge on the leaf 2. Also in this embodiment, - the band 5 can be provided with 'a convex part, for example in the form of a tubular winding of its free edge, which, when the leaf 2 is closed, engages
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
in a corresponding groove thereof.
At the horizontal, upper and lower sides of the window or door, the free edge of the strip 5 can be extended from the 5 "part and curved downwards to return the water away from the window, as well as shown in Fig. 4 at the top edge of the window.
The arrangement of outer sealing strips according to Figs. 4 and 5 has the advantage that even when the raindrops are most strongly blown away, the water cannot penetrate into the joints. It is obviously very advantageous, as has already been said, to combine the inner and outer sealing strips, that is to say for example to combine the arrangement according to Figs. 1 to 3 with those according to Fige.
4 or 5.
To ensure the permanence of the proper spacing of the free edge of the elastic bands, these in all of the embodiments described may be backed with a thin rubber band or the like.
Summary.
In summary, the invention relates to:
1, A sealing device for windows, doors and the like, characterized in that on the fixed frame of the window or door, or on the movable part of the window or door, along the edges of elastic bands are provided for sealing, which are fixed by one of their longitudinal edges, while they move apart freely by their other longitudinal edge, and thus ensure, when closing the movable part of the window or the door, sealing the joints between the moving part and the frame.
