<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"FOOT VENTILATION SHOE"
The present invention refers to pled linings and aims to provide a boot or shoe in which organs are incorporated to create a forced circulation of air through the lining so that adequate ventilation. of the foot is constantly assured.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The object of the present invention is also to provide a boot or shoe provided with ventilation members operating on the intervention of the movement of the foot to permanently cause an influx of fresh air into the shoe and other of the foot and the sottie of. stagnant air in the shoe so that fresh air can be introduced into the shoe at all times.
The inventor will limit himself to describing two methods of producing foot linings ensuring ventilation and will translate the new characteristics into the claim.
In the drawings, fig I is a view showing part in elevation and part in vertical section along one embodiment of a foot lining embodying the invention. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken along line 2 -2-of fig.
1.The fig 3 is a view similar to FIG. I showing another form of lining 1 vetilation according to the invention.
Like references designate the same parts in each of the various views.
In fig. I and 2, there is shown a ventilated foot lining in the form of a shoe in which the talbn 15 is constructed to form a cup-shaped cavity 16 in which the upper side is open and spanned by the insole 17 of the shoe. In the cavity is a so-called pumping device comprising in the lower part a body 18 and a larger disc-shaped head 19, both preferably of rubber or other suitable elastic material capable of being to be compressed under the weight of the heel of the foot d, when walking, and to resume the normal position when the pressure ceases to act, so that the head 19 takes a back-and-forth movement. - comes into the cavity to suck and stride.
The outer sole 20 of the shoe is provided with an air duct 21, the anterior end of which straightens as indicated at 21a and communicates with an opening 22 provided in the insole so that the anterior end of the duct is in communication with the interior of the shoe.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The point of communication is preferably under the toes of the foot and between the patties of the sole between the toes, so that the air inside the shoe can be easily drawn into the duct. . The rear end of the duct enters heel 15 and there is provided with a valve having a body 23 and a ball 24 influenced by a spring which acts to prevent the passage of air from the cavity in the duct, which opens to allow the passage of air from the duct to the cavity.
In order to allow the release to the air of the air contained in the cavity, the talin 15 is pierced with a suitable opening, in which is a second valve 25 of the same construction as the other valve and which functions to prevent the passage of air into the interior of the cavity.
In operation - the suction and delivery device which is placed directly under the heel of the foot is subjected to the pressure exerted by the heel when walking and is thus subjected to an intermittent pressure to cause the back and forth movement of the foot. the head 19 in the cavity.During the downward movement of the head the air in the cavity is put under pressure, which causes the opening of the valve 25 and the release of air in 1 and ¯ mosphere. During the upward movement of the head, a pressure is created in the cavity which causes the opening of the valve 24 and thereby places the conduit 2I in communication with the cavity.
As a result of the exustence of this depression, a certain quantity of air is sucked from the inside of the shoe through the duct into the cavity, this air is finally discharged from the cavity by the valve 25 during the subsequent descent to the heel. In this way, the air is found to be drawn in from the inside of the shoe and exhausted through the heel, which creates a circulation of fresh air inside the shoe to properly ventilate the foot.
Referring now to fig. 3, there is shown another form of ventilated foot cover applied to a boot toe part of the boot and constructed in substantially the same hand as the shoe shown in FIG. 1; the heel part is for-

view of a cavity 16 in which is housed the pumping device and a duct 21 passes through its sole of the boot and is in communication with the interior of the latter by its front end, instead of evacuating the air from the cavity 16 through the heel as in the first kind of embodiment,
the air is evacuated in a tube 26 directed upwards along the inner side of the boot shank, its witch hole is at the top of the boot to ensure the required evacuation of air of the cavity during the normal use of this boot, that is to say, when the lower part of the shoe is submerged
In both embodiments of the invention, the elastic crorps 18,19 also functions as a cushioning cushion for the heel of the foot when walking which provides the advantages of a rubber heel.
Although the inventor has described and shown only two embodiments of the invention, it should be understood that various changes and modifications can be made to them without departing from the spirit of the invention. invention.
